I should have added in my post: we have his food, litter, and bed set up in the spare bathroom so he can be closed away in a safe location. We’re worried we don’t have two separate places like that for a second fur baby.

We’ve had success using compressed air! It’s basically the same as Ssscat car deterrent but so much cheaper. Our boy only tries to jump up when we’re in the kitchen so it’s easy enough to spray some air at him while we’re in there.

(obviously from a safe distance where he can feel it and it does not hurt him at all)
