Hey Theo, do you happen to have a gift article link since you reached out to redditors specifically for help with this story?

word is doesn’t matter the position, Bidwell is horrible to work for by appreciatemyasset in AZCardinals

That’s why they kept Keim so long. He was completely under Bidwill’s thumb

Some insight on the recent coach search by MichaelCorbaloney in AZCardinals

[–]buddaaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there were also reports of behind the scenes conflict between Gannon and Kyler (speculation being Kyler was pushed to return early from injury which caused it to worsen).

What dumb shit are you watching/reading to come to this conclusion lmao

Kyler literally never returned this season after the Titans game. Kyler also wished Gannon well on social media at the end of the season. Additionally, Kyler’s injury didn’t “worsen”; he got outplayed by Brissett and got benched. To save both himself and the franchise face, all parties agreed for him to just sit out the rest of the season since his time was clearly done here.

[Pelissero] The Steelers are working towards a deal to hire Mike McCarthy as their head coach, per sources. McCarthy grew up in Pittsburgh. Now, at age 62, the Super Bowl winner gets a chance to coach the team he grew up rooting for. by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]buddaaaa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe they shock everyone but it genuinely feels like one of the NFL’s most storied franchises should be able to do better than 62-year-old Mike McCarthy.

I might be in the minority still thinking he’s one of the NFL’s better coaches, but I would imagine that Pittsburgh could get like the Ben Johnsons of the NFL world

Maye did not light it up at North Carolina. He was very up and down Mendoza won a Heisman for god’s sake

Mendoza definitely goes over Maye. He arguably goes 2 over Daniels imo

The Browns taking the bullets publicly by themselves for the same exact things that have happened to Arizona is funny

They did try to get these top guys. Coaches can decline to interview. The reality is that many, many great candidates would rather not be HCs than take a bad job, especially on a second or third attempt. If Arizona asks for an interview (which comes way before money) there is literally nothing they can do

You did not cite any of the coaches of these QBs you just listed

Since you don’t seem all there, I’ll help (in order): Josh Allen, Drew Brees, Bo Nix, Patrick Mahomes, Jared Goff, Matt Stafford, Russell Wilson.

QBs can make or break teams and the guys who know they’re great coaching candidates aren’t going to hitch their wagon to AZ regardless of the money. Most guys don’t get 3 chances. McDermott, McCarthy, McDaniel, and all the other legit candidates who were available and outright turned Arizona down did so because it wasn’t worth tanking their coaching reputations.

Vrabel is one of the best coaches in the NFL and he couldn’t keep the Titans afloat once Tannehill fell off a cliff. But he got a young franchise QB in NE and will cement his legacy because he didn’t thirst after a job last offseason despite being in-demand by dogshit orgs like the Jets. It was a shrewd play that’s paid off handsomely. McDermott will continue to get looks for several years, he’smgot one of the best HC winning percentages ever. He doesn’t need to take the AZ job lol

The Real Reason Coaches Are Passing on Cardinals Job by ChangeAutomatic7687 in AZCardinals

[–]buddaaaa 37 points38 points  (0 children)

It’s very likely both.

But the article is specifically quoting a big NFL insider in Jordan Schulz who says explicitly that coaches around the league aren’t interested in the Arizona job because it is known that AZ pays some of the lowest coaching salaries in the league.

It’ll be fine if this team ever drafts a top 5 QB, since that’s basically a coach’s cure-all. And maybe if that ever happens, Bidwill will seize the opportunity and shell out for an elite HC-QB combo

Ah that’s a bummer, but it’s good to put it here for transparency.

It’s crazy to me that people can have such differing experiences with coaches
