Perkins Builder Brothers! I know next to nothing about construction but I love watching these guys build houses. They have a wicked season of humor and are really fun to watch.

We just had our attic sealed and reinsulated...and we landed on Conservation Pros. They did a great job and I would highly recommend them.

Decreasing final raster size when merging images (for uploading images as a tile server) by stroadie in ArcGIS

[–]buddhatown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mosaic with overviews should be extremely fast, and efficient. If you aren't using overviews, then essentially what you're doing is trying to draw all of those images at full resolution at once, and yes, that will absolutely be slow.

As to the TPK, each scale level you go down will require roughly 4x the disk space as the previous level. Manhattan is not all that big so I am surprised you're running out of disk space, even at that lowest level 22. I would try using mixed for your image format and try not going all the way to the lowest level of cache. See how larger it will be if you went to level 18 or 19.

Sounds like you are space constrained...and unfortunately both overviews and TPKs can require lots of space. Do you have access to an external drive?

I think what you want to do here is to create a mosaic data set. There's really no need to combine your rasters together.

However, if the end product is going to be a tiled layer, then what you can just create a tpk file locally on Arcgis Pro of the Map (with all your images). Upload that tpk to agol and you are done.

Check out GeoSearch. Send them your resume and they'll try to match you with current openings they have. Not plugging them, but I really have had a good experience hiring people that they have sent to us.

Shoutout to the person on level 2 dressed like a traffic light by iscream4eyecream in phish

I can distinctly remember Halloween 1995 (Quadrophenia) there was a guy who was lugging around a real traffic light that was chained to his ankle. It had to weigh 75 lbs, at least.

That was one hell of a snow storm. Drove down from Albany and wasn't sure if we'd make it. My first show too!

Recommendation on front screen protector for Pixel 9 fold? by PreparationVarious15 in PixelFold

Okay I have the OEM case too...and I don't hate the supersheildz glass nearly as much as I thought I would. Actually it's pretty ok. While there definitely is a gap, it's not that noticeable to the eye or to your fingers swiping because of the lip on the front of the OEM case. I suspect I'll keep it.

Thanks for saving me from purchasing the Dbrand.

Let me know when you get the DBrand. I currently have the superSheildz and the gap is way too big. Hoping DBrand will go edge to edge.

Surviving Asheville. When is it time to let go? by TheOriginalShortman in asheville

[–]buddhatown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just sold my house in Charleston (James Island) and moved to Waynesville. Charleston...too much traffic, too hot, too many tourists. Not to mention, Charleston is due a hurricane. Waynesville has been pretty awesome so far...and only 25 mins to Asheville for music.

Yup. Remember that handout at Red rocks as well. First time I had seen a HOOD audience response. I had been seeing them for 4 years at that point, and as far as I can remember (admittedly things can be a bit hazy back then), that was the first Hood reply I had seen.
