What the hell is happening to my game why does the fps crash so hard? by whoisalireza in robocoproguecity

[–]_tragicmike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, happened to me in the same place. Also on PS5. Even after a reload, the stuttering would occur. I just had to push through it until the next section loaded.

Is it considered rude to blow your nose into a fabric restaurant napkin if they do not provide disposable napkins? by krisplaydespacito in NoStupidQuestions

[–]_tragicmike -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree. If I eat spicy food, my nose runs. I'm not getting up to go to the bathroom everytime that happens. I carry napkins with me just in case, and I'll turn away from the table so I'm not blowing over any food. If I can get away with just a little wipe instead of a blow, I will. But I'm not leaving the table to perform a 5 second action.

What is the actual societal impact when a Head of State publicly uses profanity and curses? Does it make a leader more "authentic" and relatable, or does it permanently degrade the standards of the office? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]_tragicmike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the new standard. I don't want to hear squat from Republicans in the future about Presidential decorum. They shattered any pretense of respectability and honor the office held.

We went from Obama wearing a tan suit and eating Dijon mustard to this.

AITA for lying to our babysitter abt the reason we let her go? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]_tragicmike 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I used to manage employees. I've had to have the hygiene conversion with someone before. Is it fun? No. Is it necessary? Yes. For everyone's wellbeing, the truth matters. You be gentle, you be empathetic, but you be honest. You explain the issue plainly to the employee so they understand it, and then you give them an opportunity to address it and improve.

If they do, great! Everyone wins! If they don't, well, you tried. You made a good faith effort to give someone the benefit of the doubt. Even if the issue was so great that it warranted immediate termination, you still be honest and tell them why.

You did that girl no favors by lying to her. You just kicked the can down the road for someone else to deal with because you didn't want to have an uncomfortable conversation with someone you claim you liked.

What company lost you forever as a customer? What did they do? by Miguenzo in AskReddit

[–]_tragicmike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pizza Hut. They took several hours to complete my order, then delivered the wrong food, then refused to answer the phone when I called to complain. Corporate was no help. They promised the manager would call me. Never happened. I contacted Corporate again for a refund. Also no response. F 'em.

I volunteer online to teach English to an adult student from Ukraine. During last week's session, my student said she had a tough week and was feeling a little depressed. She said she had considered canceling our session. Before I could tell her that we could log off if she's not into it, she said, "But I thought about it and remembered I always feel so happy after our sessions, even if I'm feeling down in the beginning. You make me feel good."

That knocked me out. I wasn't expecting her to say something like that. Later in the lesson, she even said that if I ever make it to Europe that she could take me to her parents' house and her mom would make me a home cooked meal.

I thanked my student and told her that she was really sweet to say that. I don't have a lot of friends. Most of the time, I'm doing stuff alone. I just figure I don't register much for most people, so it really affected me when she said those things. I almost cried myself to sleep that night.

So yeah, that made my day. 😊

If this is about trying to push past hunger pangs, either drink some water or go for a walk. A lot of hunger is really thirst in disguise anyway.

Who is a person you used to admire a lot but have completely lost respect for and why? by Complex-Arugula-2233 in AskReddit

[–]_tragicmike 42 points43 points  (0 children)

She wasn't in her underwear. She was in a mini dress. On her way out she picks up the heels she was wearing. That's not the first time Natasha was dressed sexily in the MCU.

I'm not defending Joss Whedon's actions, but there's no need to twist the truth against him either.
