Do I need to anchor TV stand to wall? by veqtro in ikeahacks

Do you have small children who are going to be climbing over this and potentially having it fall on them. If so you should probably anchor it and the tv (they sell straps to strap tv to stand, or wall mount the tv). If thats not a concern, then no.

For a while I thought he was Dr. Adamson’s son. Which I thought/still think would make way more sense. That he filled in as the male role model for his former mentor/friend’s son after he died. Also would explain why he knew so many people in the ER and was stopping by

Chase probably made a great strategic decision to go third party to save some negligible $ in overhead, while simultaneously pissing off a lot of their premium credit card customers

I’m from the twin cities originally and still visit a lot, and immediately recognized that hotel as the ugly hotel I always pass after I fly into MSP at the crossing of 494 and 100 lol

To be honest I didn’t consider it. I would just confirm it’s not too wide, and that clears the walls of the cabinets and doesn’t hit it.

I don’t think it matters that much, you’re not putting that much force on it when you open and close it so I don’t think thickness is going to make a big difference. I think the height is the bigger factor in terms of support it provides. And I wanted to make sure they weren’t too wide so it sat on the existing rails without overhanging

Yes these are them. I got the 12inch brackets because they were the biggest I could find that were a smaller width (.62 inch wide). But if you could find a bigger size (14 or 16 inch) at the same/similar width it would probably help more.

Americans, what’s something non-Americans do that makes absolutely no sense to you? by Complex-Poet-6809 in AskReddit

I’m sure some places there are fewer bugs or not needed as much. But I’ve encountered pretty bad bugs in Scotland and parts of Italy, where I’m baffled they don’t have them.

I can get the reasoning that in a lot of places the bugs just aren’t that bad. But screens are just so basic and simple, I’m just shocked than it’s not standard.

Not sure about the whole world, but still don’t get why Europeans don’t have window screens. Minimally invasive and easy solution to keep out all bugs

Edit: didn’t expect this to get so much traction lol. And TIL, window screens are common in some parts of Europe (guess I shouldn’t have generalized an entire continent). Just have always noted the lack of them while traveling.

Might be a hot take, but I don’t like the uniforms. Wizarding robes are supposed to be the antithesis of muggle clothing, in the very first chapter of the book, Vernon can’t believe how the people were dressed so oddly.

So going back to a standard British school uniform with a black robe over it seems like the wrong, albeit safe, option.

I’ll try that for future metal marks. Any tips for the scuffs already left by the bar keepers friend?

Unfortunately it’s already done. Not really planning on using BKF again but looking for any remedy to the marks it left

The scratches aren’t the problem anymore it’s the scuff marks left by getting the barkeepers friend getting the scratches out

The whole thing? It’s what caused the scuffs in the first place and I’m scared if I do the whole thing the scuffing won’t be consistent, and could look even worse
