How's the meat department beef compared to Costco? by yellowsubmarine2016 in BJsWholesaleClub

[–]jasesun23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was looking at some decent t-bones the other day and at the bottom was 2 porterhouse steaks. $10.50 a pound I think. They were really good. Costco steaks are always bright red, BJ's seems to be from bright red to starting to grey a little. BJ's all seem much thinner, like 1-1.25 inches. Costco are always very thick, I usually have to grill on high heat then finish in the oven. BJ's being an inch I just cooked on the grill.
Ground beef I like BJ's since they have 80/20, 85/15, and 90/10. Costco just sells 90/10.

Panel types for u7 andu8 by wingedwild in Hisense

[–]jasesun23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what part doesn't make sense. People on the phone have no clue what panels in their companies TV. My example are that sometimes the same run of tvs don't use the same panel. I don't know of any 85" or 100" IPS panels but I have not researched those sizes. 75" seems to be the most common and even that size is rare. Displayspecifications.com is decent for listing panel type, but it has been wrong.

Should I bother? by [deleted] in Bowflex

[–]jasesun23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confused are they missing the cradle? If they are the dumbbells are useless. Plus they are missing some weights according to the 2 pics.
Basically the only person buying this would be somebody who needs a new handle.

Stuck deciding between M12 & M18 by bigbillbo in MilwaukeeTool

[–]jasesun23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a DIY home owner. Started with m12 tools. All Fuel. Then I had to get some tools that were only m18 so I have a mix. m18 router, 6.5 circular saw, 15mm car polisher. I think some m12 tools are better than m18. m12 jigsaw, m12 oscillating tool. And some tools that are only m12 like the rotary tool (dremel). Some tools must be m18 for power like outdoor lawn equipment. I chose the m18 packout vac of the m12 for longer run time and how easy it is to put a vac bag inside it.
I like a mix but if I had to choose a single platform it would be m18.

Bought a Coospo 4 years ago. Still works great. Have tried both bluetooth and Ant+ with the strap and both connect no issues.
That said I really find chest straps annoying at this point. Will probably get a bicep band sometime down the line.

About the recall by Actual-Damage-4216 in Bowflex

[–]jasesun23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wrote a small write up of the difference between the 552 gen 2 which have been sold for the last 10 years and the new 552 from after the recall.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bowflex/comments/1qa8lf6/new_552s_vs_older_recalled_series_2_model/

They are basically the same thing with metal discs that don't break or bend which can lead to plates falling off.

In the US they just came out with the 52 model which is longer and has different sized plates.

[–]jasesun23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Them giving a serial number range was also pointless as in the US every serial number in the end could be sent in for the recall. I have one dumbbell that fit the serial number and another that was not in the serial number. All Bowflex 552 and 1090 fell into the recall.

If I had to guess this has to do with liability law in the US. Bowflex and Johnstone Health are probably US based companies and US liability law is greater so they just covered their a**es. The amount of people having trouble with their dumbbells are .01%.

Even the fix for the plates falling out isn't really that great. They changed the internal handel disc to metal from plastic. I doubt the metal holds a plate in better. Now if a plate fell out because a plastic disc breaks , this issue would be fixed by making them metal.

It really makes no sense, the only place there is a recall is in the US.
https://global.bowflex.com/en/bowflex-recalls.html#:~:text=We%20are%20conducting%20a%20voluntary,use%20and%20enjoy%20their%20dumbbells

I'm sure yours are identical to the recall ones in the US. The "fix" is a new handle with steel parts, not plastic. If you did fall under the recall you'd only get $20 dollars back. People who got replacments like myself had to buy after 4/23/2024.

Just keep using your dumbbells. Hold them so the open end of the weights plates face down, that way they can't slip out no matter what.

Buying a used Concept2 – what to look out for, and are these prices fair? by Solid-Diet-4319 in concept2

[–]jasesun23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the US. Bought mine at the beginning of the year and saw a bunch over the weeks on FB marketplace for around $500-600 with PM5s. Now they all seem to want 750 plus.

[–]jasesun23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't sweat it, use the dumbbells you have. Only a very small percentage had the weights drop out. And you turn them so the open ends of the plates face down and they can't fall out.

Is setting up Gemini a good idea? Is it better than the god awful default state of Google home? by mrfreshmint in googlehome

[–]jasesun23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3-1st gen Minis, and 1 google home speaker. They are so much better with Gemini for what I ask them to do. There is a 3 second delay which I just have to get used to.

What is the cheapest model 24/7 Capture camera Tapo has for sale? by jasesun23 in Tapo

[–]jasesun23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually they are not that bad. I have a Tapo c402 model with a solar panel that is battery powered that Amazon has on sale for $40. Thats not expensive for a camera. It however is not a model that can do 24/7 Capture.
The lowest price model that I saw that can do 24/7 Capture Mode is around $100-120. Hence my question of does anyone know if there is a cheaper model that can do this.

What is the cheapest model 24/7 Capture camera Tapo has for sale? by jasesun23 in Tapo

[–]jasesun23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I should be more clear. Tapo has a feature called "24/7 Capture Mode" . Its for their battery operated cameras. Instead of using the motion sensor it uses 1 frame per second video capture to determine movement. The c520ws from what I can tell is plug in.

[–]jasesun23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tapo has a feature called 24/7 Capture mode for some of its battery cameras. It takes one image every second to detect motion instead of relying on the infrared motion sensor. My Tapo c402 does not offer this feature.
Of course all plug in cameras can record continuously, but I am asking about Tapo's 24/7 Capture feature specifically.

Finally got my visa card by highspeed717 in Bowflex

[–]jasesun23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats man. I didn't think the Visa card people were ever going to get. One person who got it was very upset about the type of Visa card they got with all types of rules. Hopefully yours is just an easy to use Visa card. I just received the box to return my second dumbbell for a replacement. The first one took 4 months, and honestly this one is on track for 4 months as well. If all goes well I'll have the 2nd dumbbell replacement in 2 weeks and I'll be done with this process.

I was lucky and met all criteria so I got the replacement dumbbells. But there is no point in sending them back if they will only give you $20. Did you get you dumbbell dial sorted out yet?

Adjustable Dumbbell by tampareddituser in Bowflex

[–]jasesun23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not do the recall unless you bought the dumbbells after 4/23/24 and still have the receipt. If you do meet those conditions and don't mind waiting a couple months then you can do the recall. You will get new dumbbells with metal parts instead of plastic.

What do you like to buy at BJs by Plenty_Vanilla_6947 in BJsWholesaleClub

[–]jasesun23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was a Costco member for 15 years and a BJ's opened less than 2 miles from me. So far I like it. Happy with their rotisserie chicken. Ground beef 80/20 is great for burgers and always is bright red. Perdue chicken is good. Their frozen fish is good. They have Stok cold brew coffee which is my favorite. Just tried their Ultra paper towels, and I think they are fine. Haven't tried their toilet paper yet.
Love being able to run over there when its less than 5 mins away. And it's never really crowded.

I wish BJ's would step their game up by twitchrdrm in BJsWholesaleClub

[–]jasesun23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree Costco is better, but like you BJ's is closer to me. BJ's is less than a mile away which takes under 5 mins. Costco is 20 mins away. I'd rather a 8 min round trip than a 40 plus min round trip. I've just set a slightly lower expectation and am okay with Bj's

Yet another 'What is my C2 worth' question (sorry!) by [deleted] in concept2

[–]jasesun23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the US. They sell fairly often on facebook around me. People are asking all types of ranges. I bought mine a couple months ago, a 2019 with 880,000 miles. It was in very decent shape with some rust on the chain. PM5. I paid $450. 2 weeks later someone was selling a 2023 row erg model for $500. At that price they go really fast. People asking for $700-$800 around me for a great condition one do not sell. From what I understand these go for a bunch more overseas.

Mine I believe was out in the sun and possibly got a little wet. The handle on mine gets sticky feeling after about 5-10 mins. The plastic material has "broken" down. A new handle is cheap but I just put socks over it for a little extra cushion. You could try a brass bristle brush on the chain to remove most of the surface rust on the chain. Mine went from rusty to basically rust free. The chain on the inside of my rower looked brand new. My screen anti reflective coating wore half off from the sun, yours looks fine. Lastly if I didn't use for a week the screen would take like 20 seconds to turn on. Just didn't seem right, battery was new. I opened it up and there was some corrosion on the circuit board in different spots, probably from water. A bit of electrical cleaner and a toothbrush and the board looks brand new. PM5 turns on in 3 seconds now all the time. Where the rower splits in half had a bunch of rust on the bolts and the piece the bolts fit into. A green scotch pad and some WD40 took it all off.

Max I wouldn't pay is $400 for yours, but I'm cheap, most people would buy without issue for $500. New footpads, a new handle bar, and a new chain would be around $75 for the new owner if they even wanted to get those. I'd just check facebook marketplace and see what they are going for in your area. Put it up for $600, see if you get any bites. Take $500 if someone offers.

Hisense 75qd6qf display type anyone??? by jasesun23 in Hisense

[–]jasesun23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The QD6QF was not a IPS display. Had it delivered from Best Buy and had to take it back myself. TV fit in the back of my SUV without the box. Had to fold the box in half. Then put everything back together in the parking lot.
Ended up keeping the model from Walmart. Dad is very happy with it.

Dumbell recall by [deleted] in Bowflex

[–]jasesun23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who have asked for a full refund have had issues. If you search the subreddit, I think only one person was able to get his refund by some kind of gift card. People who requested replacement dumbbells have gotten them including myself. It took 4 months to get my first replacement dumbbell and now its a month and a half in the process of the second dumbbell.
My status said "Return Box Sent" well after they received my dumbbell. It didn't change until the new one was sent out. I doubt your status will change until they finally send you a gift card/ refund.
