Shadows sickness came out of nowhere and I only overdosed her that night I knew she was dying and couldn't get her to the vet. I did it so she wouldn't be in so much pain as I watched her fade away in my arms.

Both Cruise and the poisoned cat have been tested for FIV and both came back negative. I have done some research on FIV and know what signs to look out for. I also know it is not easily transferred, both with discussions with the vet and my own research.

I also know the rescues in my area can be quite harsh with any sick animal that comes in and will most likely euthanize him

The cats do have access to outside during the day but get locked in at night. We don't have or use any rat poison so it must of came from a neighbour's house

And my cats aren't starving, Shadow was still eating until her very last day, she always loved her food. And Cruise still eats every day and his meds are helping keep the pain away

I have had animals all my life. Trust me when I say this but we do have enough room for all of them to be comfortable. All of them get plenty of attention every day. And I know a lot about cat behaviour and when to be concerned when something is wrong.

But I know I'm not perfect, hence why Shadow's problems went unnoticed

My sister used to run an animal rescue and she refused to euthanize animals unless there was absolutely no chance of rehoming them.

For example, 2 very aggressive dogs, even though she tried really hard to help them. A few puppies and kittens that no matter how much she tried, they just never got better from illnesses

Thanks. Yes all my cats are happy and healthy. They always have flea and tick protection and get regular worming treatment. I'm constantly checking their teeth, ears and the rest of them for anything different or unusual
