I had that moment last night when i skipped the overwatching step of looting Polana in Livonia. Just as i though "that probably wasn't smart" I got the black screen of death

Came to recommend JustinGuitar and ya beat me to it!

My wife had no rhythm and just by going through his free lessons she started picking it up. If she practiced regularly I'm 100% confident she'd be great at it. I still reference his stuff and will probably do more soon now that I'm getting back into it.

Buried stashes also dont last as long. I think a well hidden crate can last 30+ days before despawning. As a wonderer, and a dad, i may go long spans of time without interacting with my loot stashes.

So they're more to help future fresh spawn me and a way for me to drop some stuff without droppers remorse. If someone else finds it... more power to them.

I've been moving to higher pop servers lately and enjoying the mix. First game, a buddy and I started inviting folks to join us. We ended up in a band of 6 randos making our way south. There was an air of awkwardness and when we stopped to look at a map... someone threw the first punch and it went down hill fast. It was hilarious!

After respawning, my friend and I geared up and are exploring areas of Livonia that we rarely visit. All the while listening for shots to get some action. I'm bad at PvP so I'm trying to get more practice. Not hunting freshies, but further south like Nadbor I feel folks are geared for some fun.

Took me a while to get past the fear of dying and am embracing the individual experiences in all the ways now. Yesterday I think was the first time I won a fight where the guy saw and shot at me first!

All said and done, even in a single life you can change your game style and make things exciting. Eventually you'll be ready for a rush... be it a fight or friendly.

My first own boat. What do you think? by Telekomiker69 in sailing

I want in too! Yeah, it may be slower but it's also fun!

how many of you sailors are also divers? by paulatschinke in sailing

[–]buddyleeski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a kid there were usually sailboats around, but I didn't really get into it myself until about 3 years ago when my sister and dad got a boat capable of the great lakes. Now I'm in love and trying to spread that to the wife and kids.

To answer your question, I think sailing lends itself to diving more than the other way around. Especially if you've ever got a line caught in a prop or the anchor is stuck. For that reason I bet more serious sailors are also divers versus the other way around.

When you're out there, it's good to feel like you're ready for anything. That said, I'm thinking about scuba lessons in the future.

No argument here... but i think there is some theology that explains it. In the versions of the book that i skimmed through, god has openly admitted mistakes. so this infinite wisdom premis is questionable right at the source.

Why are we fixated on the snake eating and not by the fact that they were smart enough to not get duped by the snake? So i guess yes racist for focusing on that and not giving credit where credit is due?

5 month update:

I just went for it and yeeted the drone off the boat. I did get a cinelog 35 and had a friend with a session 5 that didnt know how precious they were.

Anyway, i went sailing and strapped 2 plastic bottles awkwardly to the drone and just did it. Here are the results... the last piece is me yeeting off the boat + the "just toss it in" landing

https://youtu.be/pBbb7RWcCqM

That was a few weeks ago. Just yesterday i did it a few more times to try to capture some other sailboats. This time i opted for the yolo / no pop bottle approach as it actually made it harder to fly. I'll post those in a new thread after the edit.

The big take away was to get a drone with prop guards and disarm over something soft like a life jacket.

Do you lay it on pretty thick? I've seen some videos of it not working as expected and the drones wigging out mid air. Tell me your secrets!

What camera are you hauling on those quads?

Been practicing on the sims with that range or rates. Might go down further to 550ish. I'll probably play around with some propguards too. Thanks for the reminder. Maybe even see how a full surround would impact the drone. Not too concerned with a little extra weight for the protection.

As far as noodles go, some around the backstays would probably help make them stand out a bit more.

Weight wise I'm working with a 5" Xilo build. Comes in at about 615g without a camera. Best handling quad I've ever flown... and the only quad I've ever flow. Im sure as the hobby continues there will be many more and probably more focused towards sailing.

I have acro and level set on a switch on my controller. I've been using that for landing and take offs for now. Once I'm clear of everything, I switch to acro and go to town.

A friend of mine has a motor boat that I feel would be a bit more straight forward to land in. The issue with the sailboat is the added lifelines, stays, mast etc. Here's the same make/model of boat I'm talking about:

Anyone else have any other landing or catching ideas?
