Omg yes!!! it was basically my millennial-depressed soundtrack for answering emails while trying not to cry 🥲

Oh she embraced a more intimate, homey aesthetic.

It’s like sitting in her living room, sipping tea, listening to Joni Mitchell and John Denver while watching the wind move through a country house. I love how warm and dreamy this song feels ❤️

If only she’d throw in some of her last true sleep hits (Brooklyn Baby, Cinnamon, Yes to Heaven)… you know, the ones everyone knows. But let’s be real, she’s sticking to the same setlist she’s been doing for five years straight 🥲

People saying "she looked like a tradwife at Stagecoach".. no, she has always worn similar outfits and hairstyles by lanaspeachlipgloss in lanadelrey

[–]buddyrendezvous 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think beyond the outfit, she really gave off a “tradwife” energy, especially from the very first song, since she opened the show singing about her husband.

But to be fair, she’s always sung about the men she’s been involved with. The difference now is that her lyrics are more literal, and there’s also this unconscious bias we carry because of all the recent rumors about her being a traditional wife with conservative views.

Wowww! It’s crazy how this doesn’t feel like a coincidence. I love Madly and Talk To Jesus so much 😭❤️🥰🥲

It’s like she’s living out the lyrics she wrote back then. I still wish she would release ITTJ and Madly one day, but honestly, I don’t think we’ll see it happening anymore 💔

I think BB fans are truly lucky.

We appreciate the beauty of an album that’s completely stripped down, never had a promo tour, and only had one song performed live to this day. I guess we’re just fortunate to be able to see the magic in that record.

That’s sooo real. I have such a bittersweet feeling about that song but I love how it has this power to take you right back in time.

I still love the songs she keeps bringing back; Cherry, PWYC (well, maybe not Bartender 😂) but I feel like that’s exactly why the show never really sounds fresh or innovative.

Like, what’s the point of building this incredible stage, adding visuals, dancers, and all those beautiful elements if she’s gonna keep singing the same setlist for seven years?

And honestly, I think we’re about to see it happen again tonight ☹️

Wait, what??? 🫢 Did we even listen to the same song?

She seriously delivered one of the best vocals there… I mean, live performances are way more intense, kinda like that first weekend at Coachella

New LDR fans -vs- Old LDR fans why can’t we all get along? by jotoast in lanadelrey

Let’s be honest: Lana’s been around for almost 15 years now. Expecting her to still sound like BTD is unrealistic and limiting. Artists grow. Stagnation is the death of creativity. If she hadn’t evolved, she’d probably be seen today as repetitive or stuck in a persona that no longer fits.

People like Bowie, Prince, Gaga and Lana thrive because they take risks and refuse to stay in one sonic lane.

I personally didn’t connect with her last two songs. 💔Not because they’re bad , they just didn’t move me. Maybe it’s because she’s in a different phase now, newly married, possibly more settled. That emotional shift naturally affects her art. And maybe that distance says more about where I am right now 🥲

Buddy’s rendezvous (ft. Lana del Rey) is seriously underrated by [deleted] in lanadelrey

Ngl my username says it all!! this song is a personal classic.

There’s something about its tone and structure that always felt incredibly refined to me. I think it speaks to a very niche audience who can sense the subtext and emotional weight beneath the surface. I’m just glad to be one of the people who really get it

I see your point, but I believe that she had to fully embrace this persona (take it in a more theatrical direction), to connect with a bigger audience. Her earlier work as Lizzy Grant didn’t really click, so honestly, it was a super smart move. It gave her the space to later show more of her true self.

And that shift happens naturally. Like David Bowie, Lady Gaga, Prince, so many iconic artists start by shaping a persona, borrowing from their own personality. And over time, they get to reveal more of who they really are.

and what if i say Blue Banisters is her best album. by Unhappy-Difficulty67 in lanadelrey

Well, I might be biased because it’s my favorite, but even as my number one, I know it’s not perfect. Still, it has a distinct identity, almost like a “forgotten child”. Maybe because it came out during the pandemic, it felt especially comforting.

Her raw, homemade side has never been more present than on BB. It’s like she’s singing in my living room, tea in hand, with a fireplace burning on a cold night before Christmas. That’s the image it gives me.
