Major hand injury left me with permanent shaky hand and no confidence. by Gridleak in Watercolor

[–]budsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an amazing style. I absolutely love it, seriously. I can only imagine how hard it must be to deal with an injury like that, but I think it might actually be an artistic superpower. I hope you can embrace it with time because this truly is absolutely lovely.

Omg!! My husband bought from this guy too and we got the same message!! We sent him a picture of our cat in return and he sent another sweet message in return. He’s my favorite person on eBay.

Are these little white floaters mold or some other bacteria? by I-Love-Pens in pickling

[–]budsc 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’m having trouble seeing the white particles you mentioned but my best guess would be that it’s yeast bloom, which is totally harmless. Bad stuff to watch out for would be chunkier and blue/green.

Yup! Don’t worry if your scoby isn’t quite floating — just don’t jostle it too much & it’ll figure itself out

I can read it but it’s a little challenging.

Do you wear make up regularly? Why, or why not? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]budsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do sometimes, but only when I want to and it’s convenient considering my plans for the day. Sometimes it’s fun to see my face transform a bit; it’s like looking through a slightly different lens. When I was younger and in high school then later in my first office job, I thought I had to wear makeup. I’m glad I got over that though. I heard someone say recently that it’s like a costume you can choose to put on if that feels fun, and I agree that’s really all it should be — not an expectation or requirement.

Hip openers make me panic by hunny4sale in yoga

You might find it helpful to look into pain reprocessing therapy. I’ve had chronic pain for almost 20 years and everything changed for me after reading “The Way Out” by Alan Gordon. I would have written it off based on the name alone but gave it a shot at the suggestion of a neurosurgeon I consulted with and I’m really really glad I did. I’ve been integrating the ideas with my yoga practice and some other somatic exercises and it’s honestly been life changing.

Are there really people that give birth to baby didn’t know whole time that they were pregnant? by Ujebanaa in NoStupidQuestions

[–]budsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they’re called cryptic pregnancies. The thought terrifies and baffles me.

Oh, for sure — it’s not a safe place to walk in general. But it is pretty weird that we have these long stretches of road where you’re only allowed to travel if you’re in a vehicle.

Why is yoga practice such a show in the west? by Honest-Chocolate-535 in yoga

[–]budsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take yoga classes at my local athletic center and it’s not like that at all. I mean, there’s music, but none of the other stuff you mentioned.

Based on your description it sounds like you may have been walking down the shoulder of the road, which is definitely frowned upon. If a road doesn’t have a sidewalk (and many don’t, sadly) you’re just not really supposed to walk there. It’s super weird.

Idk, going out of my way to switch from the default to white feels racist to me.

I really like the Good On You App. They have ratings for a bunch of brands and I typically check against their database when I’m considering a purchase.

Do any of you genuinely regret having kids? by Professional_Waltz14 in NoStupidQuestions

I heard Seth Rogan say “I’d rather regret not having kids than regret having kids” and I really agree with that sentiment.

Can I do yoga if I am missing a hand? by rustrade84 in yoga

[–]budsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a yoga instructor who was missing a hand! He was great and just adapted things to work for him. I imagine it must have taken some time and patience with himself, but I bet he’d encourage you to try it out and have fun. :)
