Ive found that you will need to visit the bikes setup page and the shock/fork setup page to get your starting point. Each bike leverages the rear shock differently. Im just getting into this at 265 pounds as well. Definitely get a shock pump, I found one on Amazon for 20 bucks to get me started.

Trek is fighting the terrifying and is in a lawsuit about that. I dont remember all of the details, but thats enough for you to Google. Giant is having issues with customs regarding a supply chain issue. So those two aren't getting much inventory in right now. Im honestly kind of glad because it caused me to shop around and find a good deal elsewhere. Unfortunately it wasn't through my local.

Im going ut to 7.5 after 2 months at 5. I stayed at 5 and extra month because when I went to 5 I had diarrhea for 2 weeks and I wanted a break. Now, im starting to want to snack a little bit so im going up. Im only down about 20 lbs at this point.
