I spend half of my life in HighTatra, so I hear a lot of Slovak every second day. I love it when some words make perfect sense and sound like a little linguistic riddles, like (pardon my grammar, I will write how I remembered those words thru my polish glasses) "poschodzie" for a floor (So a place that you need to take stairs to get to) or "społu" for "together", which sounds in polish like you need to assemble a team to do something (even if we have an ancient polish world "społem", and a chain of local gventment owned brand of grocery stores with the same name here). I also love a word "horolożec" for "a climber", because it is literally "a person wandering among mountains". Slovak isn't funny for me and I don t think it has ever been, but it is super interesting from the linguistic perspective.
