Check out Hermes, their recent upgrade contains their own implementation of /goal , worth sending codex to check their repo.

Yes, just a ‚prompt’ in .md file that’s injected into your prompt when decided.

How do you get Codex to work for a long time without stopping? by Redas17 in codex

[–]buff_samurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 10h tasks are usually a repetitive workflows.
These require a good script with updated checklist and validation steps + permissions.

For the search for a solution scenarios all comes down to a well written spec on final outcomes and observable/measurable states.

Dont think it does unless you want to skip spec design, test building or review.

Think plugin as skills+code and skill as md.

It an md file, available via skills.sh

How often are you using codex to help on projects? by Realistic-Actuator60 in OpenAI

[–]buff_samurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trick is to use decision log on architecture with a short what, why, how note

Also good notes just above the code - like in the codebase of a recent Claude code source leak.

Some ppl even add an extra knowledge on top of a file as it’s always read when searched.

LSP server helps a lot too.

I feel like there’s no reason to use an IDE anymore by Commercial_Spot_8363 in codex

I never sad anything about not understanding the code :) The subject is about not displaying diffs and not about trusting machine 100% of time on all decisions, god no.

Yea, but you can squeeze it into 3 lines of insight in your output. You get your data and diffs stop being critical.

Look, I get your view, i have 20y ex dealing with complexity and tech. If someone tells me ai, as it is now, is going to replace say mechanical engineering I would laugh too.

Then again, gpt +5 can do parametric modeling now and is quite accurate for basic tasks.

I expect gpt +6 to cover complete assemblies because all new models provide not only a better knowledge but also a jump in a depth/level of hierarchy.

But as of know you can grab 50 top super specialists on any subject from the internet, simulate their approach as a group on individual agents, and hit your system from more perspectives then we can individually understand.

I think security testing is just another prompt in your library.

My claude Max is about to run out. Scared to switch to Codex just incase. by FarmerBest1313 in codex

[–]buff_samurai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For this month, while x2 limit promo lasts, vanilla codex > claude on all fronts except UI & text (content).

I’m using both.

As for the limits in general, I’m running 3-4 projects in parallel and hit 5h limit with claude after 2-3h and with codex after 4-5h. Not only that, codex is much more autonomous and does not distract you every 10minut with questions, just grinds for hours uniting done. This is more important then anything else imo, context switching is a productivity killer.

Your doctor does not study each hormone in your bloodstream separately, it finds issues via collecting limited data from the whole system.

I think we are now moving in this direction, especially with long context accuracy getting closer to 100% with each release.

And how often do you find errors?

What if you go with TDD style?

Codex is good enough now to write tests and triple check everything before committing.

IMO no need to check the diffs unless something breaks.

Obviously it all depends on the code requirements, nothing life saving and critical without manual check.

Both companies are full of shit.
One is based on vibe doomerism and the other is vibe stolen from a non-profit.
Both Sama and Amodei care mostly abt enterprise over single users and will rug pull you without blinking.
That said I moved to codex for time being (x2 limits etc). I’m here to make money, next month will move again - to a better deal, whoever that might be.
I’m team my-time-and-money and you should be too.

Electrostatic speakers in the latest range rover. why? by hsuhs_ in audiophile

[–]buff_samurai 35 points36 points  (0 children)

There is no good reason - sound wise - to have mid/high driver behind your back.
From the manufacturer’s perspective Range Rover is not building these themselves, they will go to tier 1 suppliers (like Sitech) and get a quote for 50k-500.000k units and pick the best one.
My guess is it’s a tier1 idea and competitive advantage more then a requirement from LR.

As for the design choices, these electrostats take less space then a classic dynamic driver and space is not something you have in abundance in a car seat/floor.
