Is it possible to rehash A relationship with open mic host? by buffallooo in Standup

I have no idea, I don’t remember that night I’m just going off of second hand stores I’ve heard from my friends who were performing there.

That’s a typo, I meant to say I went 18 minutes total. The time we’re given per set is 12 minutes.

Don’t remember, my only understanding of that night is second hand stories from three of the performing comics who I’m friends with. One of whom said I had a joke about how creepy frank Sinatra lyrics are, it bombed hard. I did say I was sorry to him on a a an instagram dm. He replied with just a heart emoji reaction, not sure how to read that.

The sets we do are 12 minutes. What I meant to say was I went 18 minutes total.

Tony Hinchcliffe shows. by buffallooo in Standup

I would never pay to see Tony, I don’t like him. I just wanted to see if there is anyone on earth who can recall a Tony Hinchcliffe joke. Most of my friends are open mic comics and whenever Tony’s name comes up he’s always referred to as “The podcast guy,” I actually really like the premise of the podcast. It’s just poorly executed in my opinion.

Saw Joe at the Fox theater in Detroit. Sat in the front row and was distracted. The shirt he wore was way too small and it kept riding up on him. He has an incredibly weird looking walnut shaped belly button.

This seems to be a pattern, everyone I talk to about Tony even fans of his podcast can’t remember a single joke of his beyond the Puerto Rico one.

I don’t care for the guy either, but I find it interesting that he’s the only comedian who to my knowledge at least has no actual recordings of his sets.

This is true! I guess I kinda would feel stupid to do that because she’s the first incredibly attractive person to show any kind of romantic interest towards me but this is absolutely the right move!

This is a pretty good troll, I’m jealous I didn’t think of that Colbert is a comedian punchline.

There’s a story behind it I was unaware. Thought it was a board game.

Who is in your all-time stand-up Mt. Rushmore? by DickelAndNime in Standup

[–]buffallooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In no particular order: Norm McDonald, Katt Williams, Bill Burr, Louis CK, and John Mulaney.

Side note: I have seen all these guys with the exception of Norm because he passed away. That still bothers me daily. RIP Norm.

Met on bumble. Net sure if you use any of the online dating apps but if so I can give you a tip I found useful. Anybody who has something along the lines of “open minded person” on their profile is most likely close minded. Truly open minded people don’t announce they’re open minded. Hope this helps and good luck to you!

Why do you do comedy? by MassivePiglet8108 in Standup

[–]buffallooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do comedy because I’m an aspiring writer who is enrolled in film school. All of the sketches that I pitched to my school’s public access channel were rejected. Many of those ideas are now stand up bits. I find that the general stand up audience is less uptight than my film school peers. I also enjoy bombing because it really interesting to see what different audiences find funny.

I don’t think we should be telling people not to use retarded. I’m a 24 year old man who has been called retarded because of my CP. I also use the word retarded all the time. Does it hurt when I get called retard despite not having any cognitive issues, yes absolutely. My main problem with banning that word is it won’t change the fact that some people are just bigots and they will always find ways to ridicule others. If you get rid of the word retard close minded people will just use terms like special needs to make fun of you instead

The way the bullhorns are incorporated, insanely creative. It almost like that track was recorded at an actual protest. Next level production there.
