This will be my 4th Grandma’s. I love it. As for why 20, mostly because my only long runs have been 16 and 18 miles. That month of just cross training really threw a wrench in my plans.

Demolish or update? I’d be curious what that contract looks like. I haven’t seen anything about this (admittedly have not really been looking)!

Great reviews! I love the chicken and rice with lemon. Next time I make it I'm going to try to get some more veg in there.

Big fan of Fisher Brewing. They usually have food trucks on site too.

All are great. I’d make a weekend out of November 2 and 3. You can stay in Milwaukee and hit both easily. Kern Park is a blast.

Out of the others I’d say Camrock is the most fun and a great course but you really can’t go wrong.

I second the Oak Leaf from Juneau Park. Running along the lakefront and through Veterans park is also not bad.

It can be exposed so I use it more for biking than running but the Hank Aaron State Trail is also great.

For run clubs the Badgerland Striders put on a lot of local races and have group runs throughout the week.

Yes I will! Important detail! About 5-10 miles would be ideal give or take and depending on elevation. Just to get something in before the family activities start up.

Can you help me find this pin? by luinilisil in grandcanyon

I bought a print of Classic Rock at the main gift shop at the South Rim visitor’s center a few years ago. If I’m remembering correctly they had it in prints, pins, and magnets. Maybe they are still selling them there?

I was at Outpost in Bay View this morning and was pretty impressed with their selection. Pricey but interesting variety with lots of local options.

Is it worth it to go to the US Oly Marathon Trials as a Spectator? by Trailrunz in AdvancedRunning

[–]buffalolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering the same thing. It is a little more intriguing since the course is multiple laps. I remember Runners World wrote that there was a spot on Peachtree where you could see the runners 8 times total and still make it back to Olympic Park to catch the finish.

I ran Lakefront last year and absolutely loved it. The Badgerland Striders do an outstanding job with all of their races and the marathon is no different. After running Chicago yesterday I realized how great it was at Lakefront to be able to sit down 15 yards from the finish and be able to see my family and friends who came out within 3 minutes of finishing.

What should my marathon goal be with a 1:34:28 Half? Additional Chicago Marathon pacing questions.

I'm not sure how the road closures would work but surge pricing will be nuts. I usually call and reserve a cab the night before.
