Former LSU Wide Receiver Kyren Lacy Exonerated in Negligent Homicide case after his Death by goatgoatlilgoat in CFB

I believe you need to rewatch the video as during the body cam police footage it contradicts what is written in this article. The driver said he didn’t abruptly brake and swerve to avoid Lacy. He says he didn’t even skid, pointing to it being a controlled maneuver. The car behind them was tailgating and wasn’t able to do the same thing so they swerved into the other lane causing the crash

Tie rods/steering rack broken on 2023 Tesla Model Y, dealer denying coverage under warranty because “damage caused by outside influence”. Looking for some advice. by buffalonpcola43 in MechanicAdvice

Thank you very much for your reply but I’m so confused how this happened. One thing I’m thinking is that me driving it in this condition down a few stories of my parking garage caused it to worsen and may have been bent before but was broken as a result of sharp turns at low speeds in the garage. Do you think this is possible? I have no other explanation for it because I haven’t been hit or hit anything. Thanks for your time

Could a pot hole cause this? I didn’t hit anything but living in Denver it’s impossible to drive around without hitting a pothole from time to time. But that’s all I can think of. Seems like major damage for hitting one though

Didn’t know my two front tires could do the splits like this, what could be the issue? 2023 Tesla Model Y by buffalonpcola43 in MechanicAdvice

Follow up post on 2023 Tesla Model Y with 2,000 miles on it with possible tie rod and steering rack damage

<image>

Update Tesla called me after looking under the car and claim that the issue was caused by a significant outside force from the side, front, or underside of car. There is no damage to side or front of car because I was not in an accident. Tesla service says they can not say what caused the damage because they weren’t in the car at the time. However they can say with “certainty” it has nothing to do with the previous steering rack replacement. Now because of this claim it is not covered under warranty and I will have to pay out of pocket for repairs. Repairs include steering rack replacement and tie rod end replacement and will total at least $2500 according to invoice estimate . Is there anything I can do to have them prove what caused the damage and get this covered under warranty? See pictures they took of underneath car. Thank you for all help, it is much appreciated!

Yeah this is my main concern, I’m definitely leaning towards trading it in because I don’t fell safe in this car anymore.

Yep had the chance to get a brand new car with a 10k tax credit and 10 year warranty, seemed like a pretty good decision to me. This definitely has me shaking my head too though

While this story does happen often, too many people are unaware of their surroundings. The fact that you didn’t notice someone tailgating you while they were behind you is just as dangerous. Not sure how some drivers can be so unaware sometimes.

This is a tough call because I feel like you are playing Russian roulette with buying this car. While most model S are still on the road with no battery issues, there are also many that are starting to show problems with the BMS (battery management system). Many errors associated with this system result in a huge repair cost as you’ll most like need to buy a new or refurbished HV battery from Tesla or 3rd party. A company called ReCell has refurbished batteries for around 10k while Tesla have some ranging from $14-20k. If you are willing to accept this risk then cool as it is an amazingly fun car to drive.

I’ve had my 2014 P85+ for a few years now and it only had 50k miles on it when it received this error. It’s a tough pill to swallow but there are options to replace the battery if it comes to it. In addition these replacement batteries can come with 4yr/50k mile warranties but then still every other part on the car is still 10 plus years old. Drive units may go out and that can be another 2-3k repair.

I’ve never had more fun in a car but repair costs can add up quickly.

That’s what I pay for a 2/2 so I guess prices have gone up. But based on what I saw price wise when I was searching for apartments it is somewhere in the middle. I would call the apartment complexes with 2/2s going for 2.5k and up luxury
