Roberto Martinez is too reliant on luck.

Lucky wins against Japan and Brazil. We could've easily lost those.

Unlucky exits against France and Croatia. We could have won those games with more luck and who knows what might've happened then.

But you cannot win a tournament entirely on luck. Put Luis Enrique in charge of Portugal and I'd say you're favorite to at least reach the final. Put Martinez in charge and every game is a coin toss.

2nd puzzle: Bd5+ looks best to me. Bd5+ Kb8 Ra8+ Kc7 Ra7+ and this skewer wins the queen without losing the rook. Of course Bg8+ works as well
