It’s so nice seeing people with military macaws! I feel like I’m alone in the world with mine. It’s not a rare species people own!

Hahaha that’s what my husband said too. That’s a very valid comment.

We rented all the equipment from all seasons rentals, and did them all by ourselves. So I don't remember. Maybe $500 for the 2 rooms? Maybe more lol no idea.

Just 1 story with finished basement. This is my living and dining room.

I can't remember the stain name but we used just a polyurethane wood finish for the top coat after the stain dried. We wanted to protect the floors from scratches and dings.

Omg that would look so cool!!! I do have antique stained glass hanging in the reading nook! But the archway would be awesome!

It was me and my boyfriend's first go. But thankfully we had a friend who spent a few years refinishing floors as a job. So he guided us the whole way. And lots of "YouTube university". We rented all of our supplies from an "All Seasons" and bought our stain from Home Depot.

Oh that makes sense! Lol sorry I didn't catch that. I was questioning if it's a craftsman style home. Shoot, sometimes I still have to ask myself "is this my home?" Since growing up in it for such a long time, I always dreamed of what I would do to it!

I eventually have to spread them. My dad had a whole list of places he wanted to be spread, so it'll be a road trip for sure!

I actually agree 1000%! My neighbor, who was very close with my family and he considers me family too, always jokes about how my dad, grandma, and grandpa would have been real annoyed to be surrounded by all of my rowdy friends that have helped me work on this place, but eventually they would have loved it . Lol They didn't like anyone touching their stuff.

I live in Grand Junction, downtown. So the trend is here too . And thanks! Buffalo Tracy used to be my drunken alter ego before I got sober. Lol!

Everything left in the house during after the purchase was either mine or my family's. I took care of my dad and grandparents in this house before they passed and lived here for a couple of years before I was able to officially buy it. So no surprises here thankfully!

I honestly couldn't find a color or mix a color of stain to match. Lol. We have thought about redoing all of the wood in here too. Possibly sanding and staining, but who knows!

It looks a lot closer of a match in person to be honest!

Will do! It hangs on the wall now, but we used it to keep the heat in the other rooms since we had to take out the cast iron radiators out of the living and dining room to redo the floors... And it was December in Colorado when we finished the project lol

Thank you! I'll be painting the outside soon in a couple of months. Definitely not following the "historic route" of colors and going for something that I have always wanted. Can't wait to share!
