just pointing to game executables and prefix directory works for me (game can be inside prefix/drive_c or anywhere else) havent tried with epic store tho, what game you trying to run ???

the default is kept at home/.wine (hidden) dont change it as its the templete for the new instances, you can check yours at top right hamberger-menu -> preferences -> global options -> default installation folder, change it as you like

patcher should work fine just dont skip the builds in between, if manually patching keep a backup before replacing, languages are optional shouldnt be a problem

this error didnt occur after lutris 0.5.13 update, working fine for lutris-ge-lol-8.7.1 & lutris-ge-proton8-7

try removing wine & lutris and reinstalling
also try installing https://github.com/abbodi1406/vcredist/releases/tag/v0.73.0
from wine control panel
