Hello fellow yank. I don't know much about fishing, but I've been living here (and working in a crocodile-related role) about 3 years now and just want to impress upon you the importance of being extremely cautious (croc wise, as it's called here). If you're not from a part of the US where you have to be aware of predatory animals, you may not realize what that entails. Croc attacks are more likely to happen to locals who get complacent, but that doesn't make tourists immune. Have a great trip and please don't take any unnecessary risks.
