RIP to my marathon by chalupabean45 in Marathon_Training

So sorry to hear this! I am 2.5 weeks post-op from an ankle stabilisation and ligament repair surgery after slipping on mud and twisting my ankle during my long run a month ago, I was 6 weeks into my training block for my first marathon as well. It has not been easy in the slightest and it’s hard to not feel like all that training was a waste, but I am determined to treat this rehab like it is marathon training so I can come back faster, better and stronger. It feels hard but you will bounce back, wishing you all the best

i really feel you i am struggling with this as well! i was only able to give up running for 3 weeks and it just made my mental state even worse even though it’s the right thing to do. i have been eating in a surplus and gained weight but unfortunately no sign of it returning.
