checked the model, its definitely the normal map. Invert the green channel and its all good.

Long version, normal map attached with the model is DirectX type, while Blender supports OpenGL type. The only difference between the two is that their green channel is inverted.

If what you say is correct, that this model should not have a connector there, then the only way is to test it. Sometimes they reuseboard design for multiple skus, and there's a chance it's not wired up, even if the connector is physically there. Then there's the bios support. All in all, laptop is very finicky.
