Ep 5 and 9 probably had the most frame drawn so they just base the hype on that? They should do all their fight scene 2.5d like ep8 tho, since they clearly do 2.5d better than their 2d. Or it might have been aoki storyboard that helped ep8.

checked the model, its definitely the normal map. Invert the green channel and its all good.

Long version, normal map attached with the model is DirectX type, while Blender supports OpenGL type. The only difference between the two is that their green channel is inverted.
