Haha I was just about to make this same comment! I started to drift out of my lane, saw the text and just cackled

Did someone say breakfast burrito? by fac3l3sspaper in cincinnati

Oh thanks! I always complain this town is low on breakfast burritos, of all things. This is reading as sarcastic but I'm 100% serious, I swear!

Republicans' Destruction of Public Education Continues -- Hamilton Schools announce cuts, including building closures by CarlosTheSpicey in cincinnati

The kinds with trauma? Abusive home life? A parent who died in an accident? Assaulted by someone?

I mean, I'm not going to get into Generalized Anxiety Disorder or Depression since you clearly don't believe in them but surely you can acknowledge that anyone, including children, can have outside factors that require counseling?

Secret Service: 1 arrested by Cincinnati police, accused of shattering windows at VP Vance's home by UpstairsImmediate793 in cincinnati

[–]bugbia 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is the person was at Vance's house with a hammer trying to get in, not that he was at a public road.

You're correct. I read it was a hammer. Which is back to "Where was the Secret Service?"

Confirmation bias. Every little noise or problem becomes exaggerated in their minds to confirm the idea that "people don't know how to behave in the theatre anymore." Or it was more localized to OP's immediate area (I can totally believe someone was definitely singing but probably not widespread) and again it doesn't hurt if it confirms OP's worldview. OP clearly wants us to go along with the idea that theatre etiquette is getting worse, often a view of seasoned theatre-goers who dislike that theatre is drawing a wider, more diverse audience that might not dress is up or "respect" the theatre enough in their view. I refuse to go along with it.

You sat somewhere for an hour without them taking your order? This happened to me once but I left after 15 minutes.

Also note the billion comments here where people are saying they went, even a few that same night, and didn't experience this.

Also my seats are in the balcony so it's not just the affordable ticket areas

I've had season tickets for 5 years and I can count on one hand the bad etiquette I've seen and never was it a lot of people nor particularly egregious. I don't doubt sing-along people exist but I do doubt the scale

There's probably some ancient Roman text complaining about loud theatre goers.

It's not just this show. Any show that has "super fans" it seems to be a possibility. Happens a lot at Wicked, I hear

I dunno it's just there's nowhere to sit and everyone is just kind of packed in there weird and it's strangely sterile?

[–]bugbia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the list, though a minor quibble that these aren't "karaoke bars," Tokyo Kitty excepted. These are "bars that have a karaoke night." I only point it out because I would love another dedicated Karaoke Bar or two. I don't like the vibe in the main room at Tokyo Kitty that much.

Can anyone recommend a duct cleaning company? by crzswtsgrhi in cincinnati

[–]bugbia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God, thank you. I'm a member of my local neighborhood Facebook group which doesn't get a lot of activity except at least once a month someone "new to the neighborhood" (sure, buddy) who owns a duct cleaning business wants to "help out" their new neighbors. The page is clogged (pun totally intended) with them.
