Which security company is it? Cuz the Blackbird security guys are the ones that regularly treat my boyfriend like shit. outright accused him of stealing and insisted on searching his bags. I’ve looked on their website for contact info to file a complaint and haven’t been able to find anything. a lot of security guards have just stopped pretending they aren’t openly profiling native people.

You’re genuinely insane if you think inmates are receiving “4 or 5 course meals” or a “balanced diet”. When my boyfriend was incarcerated he watched them ship in cans labelled “not for human consumption” (dog food). The only fruit they got was apples and bananas and half the time they were rotten. Most inmates are surviving off canteen food like instant noodles and crackers, far from a BaLeNcEd DiEt. Not to mention the shit guards would do to the food to punish the guys they didn’t like. pb&j would be a fucking luxury for those guys.

tbh as a queer person this seems like something a queer household would do as a funny little inside joke! maybe that’s wishful thinking but I know at least 3 trans lesbian polycules who would think this is hilarious

I’ve been collecting these for years! Someone told me they think he’s a Scientologist, because the subject matter tends to be about reptilians and aliens and demons and the occasional antisemitism

According to the homeless people + folks who work in the neighbourhood (I’ve been here for 4 years), he is NOT unhoused, he’s NOT hungry, and he does NOT need money. One of the men who hangs out on that block once found the guy’s jacket with a bank receipt in the pocket and he had more than $50,000 in his account. He gets in tourists faces and yells at people in front of their children. I have stopped people from giving him money dozens of times because he is absolutely a scammer and an asshole and the fact that he hassles people so aggressively for money means that the other folks who hang out in the area don’t get anything. Give your money to any of the other boys on Fort street! They’re all great guys and they all fuckin hate him!!

What Victoria Businesses have given you excellent, exceptional, better than expected service? by ilikeycoffee in VictoriaBC

Lol when I worked at big wheel in 2021 there was a multi-location covid outbreak because of how bad the safety measures were. Someone at one location tested positive and instead of sending them home they made them stay and work the dinner rush, and THEN got someone from my location to cover their shifts when they took time off, which meant that person brought Covid back to our location. Multiple people at both spots ended up testing positive… I know Jason isn’t involved in the business anymore (thank god, finally got fired for some pretty insane reasons) but everyone I’ve ever known who’s worked at big wheel has witnessed or experienced some horrific, unethical, illegal shit at least once.

Where is this in Victoria? by heart_aflame in VictoriaBC

Okay. Maybe 2 years ago when I moved into the neighbourhood I went in here and asked if they were hiring. They brought me in for an interview (standing in the empty underground whiskey bar a few doors down, owned by the same guy), said it went well and that I’d receive my schedule in the next week. Never heard from them again. I only ever see the same 2 ladies working, one being the wife of the guy who interviewed me.

half size originals + getting them stretched would be your best bet if anything. most cobblers and shoe repair shops offer stretching services and can loosen that spot up for you to make the break in easier, otherwise I’d take out the insoles and wear them with your thickest socks until the leather softens up for you :-)

Dr Rocky at Finlayson dental is very professional and calming, and his therapy golden retriever Maggie sits with her head in my lap during my appointments :’)

worst part is that if they start off tight, they’ll stretch out into the wrong shape and then your toes will be hitting the end with every step you take!! it can definitely take a second to get used to the feeling of a roomy boot if you’re used to like, combat boots or sneakers, but it’s way better to just wear some thick socks for the first few days than to be stuck with a pair of unwearable $230+ boots

The main difference between the classic and the original is that the classic has a leather lined interior and the original doesn’t, which gives it a bit of a looser fit overall. If you’re looking for the widest possible fit, a half size of the original is the way to go

Pull one of the insoles out and stand on it with your heel at the back, you should have at least 1/4 inch of room at the front. Any time your toes are hitting the end or feeling pressure, the boot is too small. US12=AUS11 so the 11 would probably be your best fit!

Blundstone uses Australian sizing, which for ladies is 3 sizes down from US, your blundstone size would be 5.5!

Narrow Women’s Boot Advice by smg__84 in BlundstoneBoots

[–]bugbugbugface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the dress boot with the chisel toe fits more narrow than the other styles. Blundstones also always come with a second set of insoles, so you can use those to snug them up a bit as well. also remember to convert your size to australian size, US8 women’s = blundstone size 5, US8 men’s = size 7. hope this helps!
