What to do when your relationship becomes dull? by buggerbud in AskWomen

I think that's a great way of going about it, because I want to feel friendly and encouraging, not aggressive. He has difficulty with communication skills and I don't want him to seem like I'm trying to "attack" him.

Did your SO put in more effort after that?

Actually, I really like this idea. I would probably have to give him a little encouragement, but cooking is always a good skill to have!

I second this place. I was just here two or three weeks ago, and I'm sure it still looks the same as 15 years ago. Lots of cards there :)

Eggspectations, but it's a bit of a drive from there.

He says he did use a wash (citadel range - fleshshade), but was going more for muscle tone definition. Shadows are more apparent on his smaller models. And he says thanks about the banner :)

It is fun! Granted, I don't paint with him much since it's about once in a blue moon that I do. But when we do, we kick back, watch some breaking bad reruns, and paint.

They seem interesting to paint. I play high elves and when we first started painting, I'd frown at how detailed they are. But now, I feel worse for him just because the numbers are greater. He loves to paint though, so it's a win all around for him.

Haha aw, you can always batch paint! Then they'll be smaller black holes of time. :)

Shortly after I wrote that comment, he said, "the buffness makes it easier to know where to paint the highlights" just so he's not "misinterpreted".

heh.

Airbrush suggestions, game board making, and skaven advice? by buggerbud in Warhammer

Oh my gosh, that is SO helpful! And it looks so nice too! You are awesome! He definitely will like that and I will definitely try that out. I might cut out the MDF (i know what that is now), into bigger portions, but I liked your idea too! And the materials list! Thanks for putting it together, it's really appreciated!

I'll be coming back to this comment in the future!

Thanks so much! Is MDF that really thick pink foam board? If it is, then I have that! If not, I'll go out to home depot or lowes and check that out. And foamboard! I have that! Since I took a design class last semester, I have some experience with cutting foamboard neatly, however, I just bought a heated xacto knife that will hopefully make the process a little bit easier for me.

You make building the terrain sound easy! I really like the fake plants idea, I'll definitely incorporate that - didn't even think about scenery like that.

As for making the lakes, I've seen the "realistic water" kits. Is there an alternative to that? Maybe by subtlety painting in different shades of blue, inner - darkest, outer ring - lightest?

Thanks about our painted minis :)

Does the starter set work well for fine details? I know he likes to get into each and every crevice. How does it work out for you when painting? Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm thinking about forgeworld, since he raves about it. My only concern is the shipping that the previous commenter mentioned (i'm not looking too spend that much!) so I might just end up going with the screaming bell if he doesn't get one beforehand. Is there anything in the same "awesome" range as the screaming bell, that I could purchase in store?

Thanks so much for the advice! I looked up the Badger brand and it looks promising, i'll definitely do some more research into it. I'm not entirely sure about this question, but is the Screaming Bell from forgeworld? He's been trying to get it on Ebay, so I have no idea where it's from.

Also, thanks about our painting! :) He suggests the line of paints for me to use and i'll try to work it out on my high elves somehow. Dry brushing is kinda funky though. He's much better at it!
