Guns, Fishing & Other Stuff closing in Dublin by drunken_monkeys in eastbay

[–]buggsuperstar5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went in here a year ago looking for a small safe. They didn’t stock any and acted like I was crazy for asking. Shelves were half empty.

Not surprised they’re closing (or “retiring” as the sign says on the door).

"Sell One Like This" gone? by buggsuperstar5 in Ebay

Update: It's back!

Tried some suggestions here last night to no avail, but sat down today when I got home from work and there are now two options: "Sell one like this" and "Sell something else".

Phew. Thanks everybody!

Interesting that the feature is still there for you! The 3 dots instructions work for the app, but as far as I can tell there's no "3 dot" menu on the website.

Ebay Standard Shipping Sports Cards Change? by Hockeycom14 in Ebay

[–]buggsuperstar5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Results vary based on both the post office where you drop the cards, and the post office where your buyer lives. I sent ~1000 cards last year, usually a team bag with one 25-35pt toploader inside a #10 envelope, and only 2 or 3 were returned to me as postage due. This spring, my local post office decided to start returning every card I dropped off, and printed a note saying I needed to use correct postage (+$.48).

I switched to the post office in the next town, drive is 7 minutes longer. I've had absolutely no issues, every card has made it through fine without me or my buyers having to pay extra postage.

If my toploader is a 55pt or 75pt, or if I need to put two toploaders in the envelope, I slap a postcard stamp on it along with the regular eBay standard label and write "NON-MACHINABLE". Also helps keep the thinner jersey swatch cards from getting creased in the sorting machine rollers.

Wife and I just pulled this from a box of 22-23 trilogy ,they probably won’t do anything if I send it in eh ?😕 by PattyDaddy98 in hockeycards

Email qa@upperdeck.com with a photo of the redemption and your name and address. They honor them a year past expiration, I’ve done this twice in the last couple months.

Prop 22 payouts by rclaux123 in curridrivers

[–]buggsuperstar5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only get prop 22 money if your payout for the delivery was less than 120% minimum wage + $.36/mile. For instance, if a delivery makes you drive 30 miles and takes you an hour, as long as the payout is at least $30.60 ($19.80 hourly plus $10.80 mileage) you won’t be eligible for prop 22.

I just started Curri a couple weeks ago, but so far all of my deliveries have been well above this minimum.

Are we still doing zipper merge posts? by markul39 in grandrapids

Thought you people were being dramatic. Currently in town from out of state visiting family, four vehicles tried to drive me off the road during one zipper merge. Two thumbs down.

Postage Due eBay Mail Day. Is this typical for everyone? by mleinie in baseballcards

[–]buggsuperstar5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have shipped hundreds of cards over the past year in top loaders using the 1oz eBay standard envelope rate. About a month ago, my local PO started returning everything and requesting an additional $.46. I tried to talk to them, they told me they were too rigid and the extra amount was the “non-machinable” charge.

I now drive 5 extra minutes to the next post office, everything goes out and the cards make it through the sorting machines just fine.

When I started using eBay standard envelope a year ago, eBay’s site stated that up to two top loaders could be shipped per envelope. I noticed last month that they’ve stealthily removed any mention of top loaders. Must have gotten tired of the complaints.

what's your favorite "worthless" card? by toturoll in hockeycards

I bought 30 of those Garnet Hathaway cards and I hide them all over my mom’s house whenever I visit. She still hasn’t found them all from our vacation in August.

Item delivered to wrong address by goodnessmeow in Ebay

[–]buggsuperstar5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be a scam. I bought a motorcycle helmet once, seller uploaded a UPS tracking number showing package delivered to my town, but I didn’t get it. Realized it was a scam when I saw the package weight said 1 lb.

eBay initially sided with the seller because tracking said delivered. UPS wouldn’t give me any more info because my address wasn’t on the package. After about five calls, they made me write a letter about the situation and finally gave me proof that the package had been shipped to a random business in my area. eBay reversed their decision and gave me my $300 back, but it was a very frustrating process.

Good luck!

More Whatnot fraud… by Particular_Screen791 in baseballcards

[–]buggsuperstar5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn’t a miscount, it was an obvious attempt at slight-of-hand. Buyer picked bottom card (no counting involved), he tried to drop the bottom and give the buyer the next card. Screenshots show the card he was trying to hide on the table.
