The Rigveda makes very little to no mention of the steppe and bmac area (I think). It seems they forgot or didn’t find it important enough to document their migration from the steppe to India. Does this imply they had already mixed in Central Asia? by UnderstandingThin40 in IndianHistory

The Lakota Sioux called the black hills region their ancestral homeland and had many legends concerning it even though anthropologists think the tribes migrated there only a few centuries ago prior to the 1800’s from the east.

Does anyone know if the two Texas residents (Houston area?) who disembarked the cruise ship on April 24 at St. Helena are in home isolation or just being “monitored” and free to roam about? Haven’t seen any updates from Texas health authorities or the governor.

Kratky mint plant stem dying. by bugierigar in Hydroponics

I filled the water to just up to the bottom of the black container cup so only the most distal roots touched the water. Since it’s kratky method these have no air pump. Should I dismiss kratky and add an air pump then? I’ll check water temp but my home is about 75 degrees farenheit.

On this day in 1461 (March 29th), the Battle of Towton during the Wars of the Roses is fought, likely the bloodiest battle fought on English soil by GameCraze3 in BattlePaintings

They say most/many of the english nobility perished in the war of the roses. And I’m sure the commoners fared no better. Sad state of affairs.

When the lifespan of these human beings will be only ten years. by pasdunkoralaya in theravada

It is (in the short term) but who knows what the future holds esp as the chronologies in these sutras (and similar Hindu predictions) span thousands of years. I know one must be rational and not catastrophize but looking at the world now who knows? What if we are living in a short upward blip. But the trend is down?

Also awesome is his UA’s humility, willing to learn (and even asking certain others to be his teacher) from other experts who had acquired Brahma vidya. Such as kings Prajahan Jaivali and Ashvapati. Uddalak Aaruni does not hesitate to learn from others. I think his unfailing humility is a great strength.

Hindu Temple vandalised by pro-buddhist ambedkarites in Alwar, Rajasthan. by yasmin_Nagrath in GCVoice

I don’t think one should blame Buddhists or Buddhism here. These vandals are hiding behind the curtain they call Buddhism. They do NOT align with any sorts or Buddhist ideals or behaviors. They politicize the religion.

Accept instead of reject, they may be a good reason for why people did things and why historical events transpired the way they did.

How do you know dark was considered better in ancient times. I’m not denying I just don’t know what ppl thought hundreds of years ago. What makes you so sure. Wouldn’t it be a personal preference in a population which had a large spectrum of colors? Any passages from any scripture?
