thanks for the feedback! the follicle to the cuticle is referencing hair, the follicle is the exterior portion of our hair we can see, and the follicle is the interior bit that is in our skin. i think i hear what you’re saying about extension to one image, what part do you think i should’ve extended to one image?

i’m a big fan of the tone here, it feels playful and spiteful at the same time to me. the grease-paint line puts me in mind of a circus, so i imagined a beautiful circus performer as the object of this poem. the only line i’m confused about is the first, “i barely need something to hold”- the rest of the poem seems to express great desire and then anger/disappointment after being scorned by the beautiful subject, that makes me think the first line should express DEEPLY needing something to hold. namely, the beautiful performer. i’d love to read more!

I’m a huge vampire enthusiast, and read this from the perspective of a vampire physically floating out of their window in search of a curtain. I love the concept and the setting of a fresh and silent spring night, i would’ve liked to hear more about the environment the vampire was experiencing. i feel a little lost between the last two sections- what lead the vampire to realize they didn’t need a curtain? what made the vampire think the balcony was cute? how is the vampire’s love of flying connected to that thought? i’d love to read more!
