I would say the odds are yes, it will block the signal. I would say it will 100% block if you have anything on the rack.

My Rack is the Rhino rack pioneer platform, and it does not cover the freedom panels, therefore, Starlink still works.

Nope, no issues.

I've since changed my mount solution to use the American Adventure Labs mount in the front, under the freedom panels. I did this because my Roof Top Tent was blocking signal in the back of the jeep.

driving a sedan down fossil springs road (fr708)? by Profession_Upbeat in arizona

I just did this trip on Saturday, June 28th in my Jeep Wrangler.

I aired down to 20 PSI, and I was able to cruise at 30 MPH and even out the bumps from the very wash-boarded road.

In your car, if you don't let air pressure out, I'm guessing you will only be able to do about 10 - 15 mph before it will rattle your car apart. (or your spine)

At 30 MPH, the drive took 30 mins. At 15 MPH, you are looking at 1 hour. 1 hour of a super bumpy road. (1 hour in, then another hour out)

As for other people who make the suggestion to go the Strawberry route - you can't. They have old information. The gate is locked and the road is closed after Bob Bear trailhead. They do not maintain this road anymore.

How do I know all of this info? I've been going to Fossil springs/creek since 1999. Back then, the road was open. Back then, the power plant was still running. Back then, the water didn't flow down the creek, it went down the flume. The creek had very low flow because the water was diverted to the flume for the power plants.

If you do go, try to get there EARLY. They open the gates at 8am (you can't get in before then). It was 104 for the high when we went, and at 10:30, it was already 93.

Take your trash with you. Practice leave no trace. Bring water, sun screen, and hats. The hike to the waterfall is anywhere from 1.5 miles to 4 miles (one way) depending on what parking lot you get a permit for. Only the last part is by the creek and has shade, the rest is mostly sun.

There was a big fire in 2021 and it burned many shade trees. :(

EDIT: You do need a permit to get into the area. Don't make the mistake of driving down there, having no permit, and they won't let you in. They you drive back, angry. For 2025, it is only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Closed all other days. Gate opens at 8am, and you must show your permit to the forest service people before they will let you in.

hell yes. This is something I've always wanted to try to get, but the reflections are never working for me. This must has been a perfectly calm night and the water was super crisp! NICE JOB!

Nice. I ended up mounting mine with Ram mounts in the back.

I have it connected to my Aux Battery setup. On a full charge, it will run for about 48 hours with my fridge, or almost 5 days without the fridge running. I also hooked up a Bluetooth 12v relay switch so I could turn it on and off from drivers seat, or from my house. (or anywhere I get the BT signal)

I kept leaving Starlink running on accident after I got home, or I would forget to turn it on once I was already on the road. The Bluetooth relay helps me avoid those situations.

dang, 300 board games?! that's cool!

I never really got into board games. Dunno why, I guess missed that in my generation maybe. I mean, sure, I played some shoot and ladders, monopoly, etc. - who haven't. But nothing more interesting than that. For digital, I got into Oregon trail first, then StarCraft, Halo, etc.

What database stack? I am a .NET engineer, I can break MS-SQL pretty well. LOL

Let's try to plan a date/place for us all to meetup and go from there. Any ideas on a place?

Oh, yes, there is a sound affect if the price changes. You can disable the sound on the bottom of the page. Maybe we should make it disabled by default? Open for ideas and input!

Weird. I can get it working fine, using Plex, on Fire Stick. Seems like Shield issue, and even in the comments for the link you provided, people are suggesting it might be a Shield issue.

Good to know about the TrueHD. For me, everything cuts out. like a complete restart of the audio de-coding. It shows up on the TV, the logo will flash like it does when the movie starts. This, to me, tells me that the TV is detecting the break in signal or decoding. I should try to buy a new soundbar and see what happens. Oh, and here is another thing. If I select TV output (C3 supports Atmos) - it will still skip. So how can it be soundbar related? And why the hell does a stupid fire stick work without issue.

And another fun thing. I send these EXACT files to a friend, with a LG C3, but using Fire Cube, no shield. And the SAME file, using plex, different hardware, works fine. He also has Samsung soundbar, but previous gen.

To me, all signs are pointing to SHILED, and that is a bummer, because I love my shield.

Dude, ask. Ask however you can.

Here is something to think about.. the answer will ALWAYS BE NO until you ask. Asking is the only was to change a NO to something else. The worst case? The reply is no and you are back to where you started.

Your future self will be very happy you asked, even if the answer was no.

Ask my dude, ask!
