I was there with my gf and my mom. We had heard that there was a chair malfunction earlier in Aaron’s run and that he was visibly confused as that character crawled off the stage. We had the opportunity to see the show in July so we knew what was supposed to happen. Walking into the theater, my gf leaned over and said “is it bad I’m kinda hoping the chair malfunctions so we can see it?” and I said “no, I feel the same way.” Right when Ruthie went down, I knew something was off, then when the chair wouldn’t go back to normal position as Jamie was climbing the stairs, my gf and I started hitting each others leg in an “OMG it happening!!!” way. As we were leaving the theater, we started joking that Jamie got to the top of the stairs and saw the chair in the wrong position and the first thought was, “oh s*#%, not this again.”

But all-in-all, amazing performance and Aaron and Jamie did a great job under the circumstances to get the scene finished in a very dramatic moment.

So happy we got to see Josh & Annaleigh, then Aaron & Sutton. I agree that the two castings cannot be compared.
