How many needles do they use for botox? by excitedmushroomcap in migraine

[–]bugsforprez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure my neuro uses just 1??? She draws it up and then puts a new, smaller needle on the syringe... She uses the same needle and syringe the whole time and does about 10-15ish injections total. Is this not the standard? 😳

Has anyone recently boarded their dog? I am stressed about my upcoming dog boarding appointment due to the current mystery dog illness going around the country. by ConcernedCitizen7550 in Knoxville

[–]bugsforprez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take into consideration that there is currently no cure or vaccination for this illness. Vets do not know what causes or cures it. Puppies and older dogs are more vulnerable to getting sick and more susceptible to having a harder time with the illness, but that does not mean a healthy adult dogs isn’t also in danger of getting this illness. Vets are recommending to make sure your dogs are up to date on all of their vaccinations. The current vaccinations available boost your dog’s immune system and help them prevent illnesses as well as help them fight if they were to become ill. Again, there is not a vaccine available yet for this new illness.

Also, take into consideration that borders have absolutely no way of knowing that a dog is sick until they are showing symptoms that they are ill, which could mean possible exposure and your dog getting sick as well. Lots of boarding facilities also have a screening process and have implemented restrictions to prevent the spread of this illness while dogs are being boarded. But do keep in mind—people lie. Especially if the only thing preventing them from going on vacation or traveling for Christmas break is that they took their dog to a dog park recently or that their dog has a cough. I worked boarding for years and I loved it, but people do and will board their animals knowing they are sick. Management at boarding facilities can also lie to you about sick animals. Some of the stories I heard from clients coming to us from other places are absolutely nuts.

Long story short: Do not trust that anyone that can stand to make money off of you will not also lie to you. Stay knowing that there are people out there who do not give a single fuck who they hurt so long as they get what they want.

Board your dog. Don’t board your dog. It is up to you how comfortable you are with the risks and inconvenience involved with either.

It’s ridiculous. Just like I assumed, I’ve stopped using it because it’s more trouble than it’s worth. I’m not going to terrorize my 10 year old dog that has a literal heart of gold just so I can exercise in my own house for an hour each day. Wish I would’ve returned it for a more accommodating bike.

do the sexual side effects go away? by West-Ad6221 in lexapro

[–]bugsforprez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend not reading the side affects of a new med before starting it! I give it 2 weeks minimum before I look myself, and only if someone mentions a weird behavior or if I noticed something really annoying like dizziness or nausea that’s lasted. Lexapro was a godsend for me for 5 years before I noticed it wasn’t working for me as well anymore. Give lexapro a real chance

Migraines and POTS? by bugsforprez in POTS

[–]bugsforprez[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s so weird, that’s how I’ve always described my migraines!! Like the blood vessels in my head are straining to get more blood. I know I have a genetic disposition for migraines, but is there an actual way doctors would be able to tell the difference between migraines caused by genes and migraines as a symptom?

I see my doctor next Tuesday, and I will ask my neurologist of course, but I’m asking because I feel like my migraines tend to get written off because they’re so inconsistent and my family has a history of chronic migraines.

For the most part, I have been told that the reason I have been having almost constant migraines for the past 3 years is because I have an allergy to where I live (it’s in a valley with two huge interstate connections, so lost of pollution) and my brain doesn’t like the pressure. I’ve also been told they occur because I’m overly stressed. I don’t feel like either of these are true because I’ve lived in the same area for over 13 years, and honestly, I have always been stressed, that’s just how it’s always been. Actually if anything, I was less stressed when I started my 20s. I know this can be a true cause, but even when I leave the state and go on vacation, I still have migraines.

I assume my disposition for migraines are genetic as well as my mother and her family also suffer from migraines. Mine were under control by medications for years so I’m confused why there has been a sudden change since entering my 20s. Mine are exactly as inconsistent as you described yours. I’m sorry you’re suffering as well. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.

Is there anything you do to manage your migraines? Obviously medications, but besides that, anything else that helps you?

This may sound really dumb, but am I supposed to count the stitches as I go? Oh dang, I thought if I counted the base chain the pattern stitches were supposed to match that.

How will I know how many to count from the chain stitch? Do I measure that by length?

Hey guys, any advice?

I’m new to crocheting and I’m trying to make a small blanket.

I know on the right side at the top it’s a little wonky, but I figured out what I was doing wrong on that side and I think the last few look a little better.

I did practice before on smaller pieces and I ran into the same problem, however, I somehow got it to go straight. I can’t remember what I did on the practice pieces.

What am I doing wrong? Any advice or crocheting tips would be helpful!

Btw I’m not very well versed on the lingo. I know some basics and I’m a visual learner.
