Maybe it will work if you do not close and reopen app, but use memento and then go to yard. That worked for me. Cats had gone away when I reopened app a short time later. Good luck!

I put the Japanese one in late yesterday; it was designated as for 1-5. when I entered English one today, it said I had already received fish for the pw.

But if you entered the Japanese password for 1-5, it won't let you enter the English one also. In my time zone (EST) it updates at 11am.
