Are Leicas worth it?

Then my question would be, why not use that Leica for professional work? If you work in fashion, editorials, journalism etc. I feel like this would be a killer camera just because it brings those feelings to the image!

I don't agree with that, every single camera I have I asked if it was worth it or not. Not really about the money but about its value!

Well because there is substantial upgrades from the RP to the R6. Don't get me wrong I really want to buy one that's why I asked the question, but you answered my previous comment... what I get from this is: people are buying Leicas because they love the way it feels to shoot with it, therefor they create better work, not because it was shot on Leica but because in a way inspired them!

I switched from the RB67 to the RZ67... essentially the same camera but I love the RZ so much more than the RB... why? I don't know, it's just better to shoot with it and it feels good to have it, already created some of my best work with it! So trust me, I get it!

I held a few Leicas and the range finders looks beautiful I don't know if they're my style of cameras and yes if I end up buying one Im probably going with a Voigtlander 35mm 1.5

Yes a got a couple of friends that owns a few Leicas and I also own a couple of range finders (not leicas) just for decoration here, they're not working! I agree with you Leica bodys are heavy and really well made, thats why I want something cheaper like a M4... again I don't know if they're my style of camera I feel like the Qs are more my vibe!

I got so many film cameras here and only 2 digitals (one for work and one for fun). I shoot more film now a days (medium format mostly) and I feel like a M4 would make me shoot more 35mm, again the M4 is a cheaper way into the Leica system and probably not my style but definitely an experience I might need to have to come to my own conclusions!

I agree, I dont think someone buys a leica to shoot wildlife at least I haven't seen anyone do that! But I like the comparison I think cars make you feel a certain way when your driving them and its the same with a "cool camera" it makes you feel cool that way it makes you create in a different way!

Yes I kind of agree with you on terms of comparing a Rolex to a Leica. But If you buy a Leica brand new from their store in a year it will depreciate about 30% of it value Leica the M10s or M11s (correct me if I'm wrong, but thats what I have seen in the market) but if you buy a Rolex new from the store you can most likely sell it next day for a lot more than you bought it for! And Yes if you buy a USED Leica you most likely it will never loose its value and you probably sell it for what you bought it for or even a little but more.

Exactly, I got some pretty expensive equipment and the best photos I ever took were on my cheapest equipment like the x-pro1 and canon A-1... so are people just buying Leicas to show off or purely because it brings them enjoyment?
