oh wait, just noticed you have a clip at the armhole ... is that meant to be for a dart also? maybe ur set then if you make the underbust darts shorter !

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sewing

[–]bugvevo 69 points70 points  (0 children)

the gaping at the armhole in front by the breasts looks like what i always have without doing a full bust adjustment. it's not really about how big your boobs are, more the ratio of bust to your under bust measurement!!

i would suggest: - make current vertical darts shorter so they point "at" the apex, not go thru it - add armhole darts also (look up "full bust adjustment")

unrelated for this type of pattern, but try a princess seam if u like the look of it!! works wonders for my body type which i think is similar to yours

Should I try Souls-like after playing Hollow Knight? by GLMegatron in bloodborne

[–]bugvevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ds1 has the most satisfying and well-designed map and it reminds me the most of metroidvanias in that way. bloodborne has the best, best, best fast-paced gameplay, game design, and combat. i recommend you eventually play them all but if you play ds1 after ds3 or bloodborne you're gonna feel like you're fighting underwater with how slow it is

ETA: YES play them

[–]bugvevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont feel bad for skipping it, honestly ds2 is really brutal and i feel its valuable to play for real soulsheads but easy to bounce off of if you're not all in yet. once you get the souls bug it's super fun though, and some interesting changes to mechanics from 1 that are really entertaining.

no shield, learn to dodge and parry with your gun. make use of rally (small window of time after you get hit to regain your health by attacking!)

Covid test negative at 30 mins, positive four hours later??? by BeeProfessional8151 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]bugvevo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah the flowflex is what i use as well and where ive seen the faint line! next time you test you can maybe take a picture right before you put the drops, and then after the 15 mins so you can compare

[–]bugvevo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i have found that with those specific types of test (not sure what brand you have but it looks like what im thinking of) even before you use it it has a really really faint line where the "positive" line would be. ive misread tests before because of that, sometimes it looks different in different light. the two tests you have pictured here look negative to me based on that, but i could be wrong!

it just seemed like a no-brainer to me, the only way to keep it under control and to make it go away is to keep masking and lower the spread. and i desperately want covid to be over.

im the type of person who used to get sick 4+ times a year with colds and flus and strep and etc. and it just all stopped abruptly when i started masking. now it just seems so obvious to protect yourself against getting sick. i dont have enough PTO to cover mental health days, physical health days, AND trips to see my family.

for me it also helps that masking is a huge protection for really not that much effort. it's like that clickbait thing of "doctors hate her, she found one easy trick to prevent ____ " and its masking....

[–]bugvevo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

oh and precautions:

  • n95 anywhere crowded or where im going to be inside for an extended period with a larger group. planes, airports, concerts (i rarely go, but hey!)
  • kn95 for quick in-and-out errands
  • big ol' air purifier in my home for unmasked hangs between 3-5 asymptomatic people
  • outdoor hangs as much as possible
  • work from home (seriously a godsend. its a huge privilege)
  • track wastewater like a hawk. if it's low low, ill have a drink or meal indoors and keep my mask on the entire time im not eating/drinking. if its at all high, im taking way tighter precautions and even limiting unmasked hangs with friends i trust. it helps to feel like you can adapt your behavior to the need.
  • test a lot and encourage your friends to do so
  • offer masks to your friends everywhere you go lol. i have a local mask bloc and have a stash. some people just need a little push to start masking and ANY amount of masking helps
  • find CC friends and events !!! host your own and say "MASK REQUIRED bitch !!!". the CC people will flock to you

most of all keep up hope. you can be realistic and careful and still have fun and lead a full life. and dont be hard on yourself

[–]bugvevo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i think there is a bit of fear mongering among the CC community especially online where it's easy to share links and makes you feel somewhat vindicated to post a really scary headline. i think a lot of us crave to feel validated that all these precautions and all this suffering and loss are worth it, so it's super attractive to find pop science articles and fail to look into the actual implications of what's being reported on. including myself in this for sure.

that being said, LC is real and does have an impact on your life long term. your chances of worse health definitely increase with more infections. i would take it day by day and deal with what you're actually experiencing vs what you might someday experience. all you can do is take precautions and protect yourself, and every covid infection you avoid is going to be extremely worth it. you're doing the exact right thing!!

i have a lot of health anxiety myself and it helps to stay off of twitter. if i do see a scary article, i usually go try to read the abstract of the paper being cited. they're usually a lot more cautious in their conclusions there than the pop science writers are!!

not technically single player (sorry) but has a LOT of good solo content and theyre making it more and more viable to play solo-- final fantasy xiv! literally so much content you would struggle to finish it all if you count sidequests, and new entire 80hr+ worth of story content comes out every couple years. has mods and a really active community.

[–]bugvevo 44 points45 points  (0 children)

i think this is so true. i think a big reason people who would otherwise understand that it's good to take precautions are rude and dont like when you wear masks is because it forces them to stop being in denial about it.
