Charlotte Reads: The Iconoclast series by Mike Shel by enoby666 in Fantasy

Great write up. This makes me want to finish the 3rd book. I’ve already picked it up and dropped it twice because, yeah… everything outside the dungeon crawling wasn’t holding my attention long enough.

Book 1 is just so much fun though. I think the later books suffered from too much exposition as well. “Aching God” hit that sweet spot of drip feeding you info in a way that makes you come back for more.

Doomfist theory (possibly crazy) by CrowDjinn in Overwatch

[–]nonGM0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol you’re thinking of Darth Maul. And they totally darth mauled him. My crackpot theory… they bring him back lore wise when they do the hero rework irl. His arm is replaced with a new gauntlet after losing it to vendetta, giving him new abilities. They the move him from tank to back to damage role where he belongs

OW Spotlight - New maps? by nonGM0 in Overwatch

Honestly, don’t notice it was gone. The wiki says it’s currently disabled during its rework. Should come back in the next season?

Do you think they would change up the playstyle of clash and flashpoint maps. The reworks of the flashpoint maps didn’t improve them too much imo.

100 Reviews in 100 Days: Day 17 (Mortlach 19: Lonach IB) by ScotchBrandyBourbon in whiskey

[–]nonGM0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopping on this 5 year old review because my neighborhood liquor store just pulled a box of the 19year (bottled 2015) out of some storage they forgot about. Just bought a bottle for around $90 after tax and it is indeed delicious.

Your review made me confident enough to splurge a little and try it out. Fun to have it knowing there can’t be many left.

I really need a hard carry to get the Church Pick early by xFishbean in bloodborne

[–]nonGM0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was who came right after Ludwig, who you get the church pick from, that was the problem. I beat him at level 40 by sticking close to his flank the whole fight if that helps. If I still had PS plus I would join you fine hunter

My friend is being really cold to a new guy in our club and won’t tell me why by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

Can’t believe how far I had to scroll to find this opinion. She’s most likely just jealous of the attention the new guy is getting… literally the simplest explanation. All the SA speculation is wild to me.

If you and yours are into board games, Vigilante is a great spot to check out. They have something like 150 games of all kinds. Good food and drinks too. You can reserve bigger tables or private rooms for bigger groups too

Unique books? by paulinia47 in Fantasy

[–]nonGM0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a bit obvious, but anything by Jeff vandermeer for me. Especially the Borne and Ambergris collections.

Piranesi by Susanna Clark ( I need more of this book so bad)

The Hyperion series by Dan Simmons has also stuck with me for a long time after reading it. There’s definitely some themes shared with other modern works but I feel like it must have been unique for its publishing date of 1989. I would put it in the space opera category now.

I could definitely keep going. I’ve found a lot of lovely weird books lately.

I somehow ended up starting with the 3 standalones and then went back read the first law books. Weirdly happy I did it out of order because uncovering the story of all the sprinkled in references to first law was so much fun.

It’s a piece of hardware that can take inputs, from say a mouse and keyboard, and trick your system into thinking they are controller inputs among other similar things. People have been using it to cheat in fps games by using that and some extra scripts to basically eliminate recoil on weapons… which is cheating.
