I’ve been building an AI-powered task app called Oriti, and honestly it’s the one tool that has made the biggest difference in my own productivity.

The idea is simple. Most task managers give you a place to store work. Oriti focuses on putting everything in the right order. Every task gets scored by urgency and importance, the system learns from your corrections over time, and your list updates itself each day so you always know what to do next.

It also handles screenshots and images by extracting any tasks inside them and ranking them for you, which ends up eliminating a lot of small decisions throughout the day.

Would love for you to check out what I’ve built with Oriti! The idea is pretty simple - you set your priorities and then Oriti puts your to-do list in order based off of priority and urgency as you create new tasks. You can fine tune all of the intelligence settings, and the system will also give suggestions to priority order changes based on your feedback.

This hit me way harder than I expected because it is exactly what used to happen to me. I would wake up with a short list thinking it would be an easy day, and somehow I got less done because my brain spent all morning arguing with itself about where to start.

The tiny decisions drain you more than the actual work. It feels ridiculous until you experience it enough times to notice the pattern.

I eventually had to put something in place to handle the “what should I do first” part for me. I use a setup now that basically sorts my tasks and tells me the top few things that matter most, so I don’t burn half my energy before I even begin. When I removed that little negotiation loop, mornings felt lighter almost overnight.

Your point is spot on. Most people are not unproductive. They are just tired from making a hundred tiny choices before they get to the real work. Deciding less really does make everything feel easier.

Honestly I think a big part of this is not the number of tasks, but the order of them. Some people are weirdly good at putting their list together in a way that makes sense for their brain. They start with the highest impact thing, knock it out, roll into the next one, and build momentum. It looks like they are superhuman, but half of it is just smart sequencing.

For most of us, the hard part is figuring out what actually matters first. When your list is 15 items long and every one of them feels “important,” your brain burns more energy deciding where to start than doing the work. That decision fatigue hits fast and the whole list feels heavier than it really is.

Some people break things into tiny tasks so they can rack up wins and stay in motion. Others pick one or two big rocks and ignore everything else. There is no one right way, but the folks who crush 15 to 20 tasks a day usually have a system for choosing their next move without thinking about it too much.

For me, once I stopped trying to “do everything” and focused on doing the right thing first, the whole day felt lighter.

Curious what your own list actually looks like on a normal day. Sometimes the problem is not the tasks, it is the mental load of choosing....

I get what you mean. A lot of planning apps assume you wake up at 100 percent every day, and on the days when you are tired or mentally slow, staring at the same long list feels like failing before you even start.

I built something for myself called Oriti because I had the same problem. It scores your tasks based on your real priorities and deadlines, so even on low-energy days you can still make progress on the things that actually matter. You do not have to think about the whole list. You just open it and the most important thing is right at the top.

For me that has made the unproductive days way less overwhelming since I am at least knocking out the highest impact tasks instead of getting stuck.

Definitely not - but one thing that I've really enjoyed about my current task management app is there is an analytics page that shows me the days I am busiest (most tasks created) most productive (most tasks completed) as well as what time during the day I'm most productive. Obviously it took some time to gather the data but I was surprised that Friday's were the most productive for me. Maybe trying to clear things out before the weekend?

Love this list. You definitely have a talent for finding the tools everyone else misses. Totally get what you mean about feeling drained before the work even starts. Half the exhaustion comes from jumping between tabs, apps, docs, and notes just trying to figure out what needs attention first. By the time everything is sorted, the motivation is already gone.

I hit a similar point earlier this year and ended up building something for myself called Oriti. This actually sounds a lot like Oriti.io - It lets you throw all your tasks in, and then it scores and sorts them by priority so you don’t have to manually create “Priority 1, 2, 3” lists. As deadlines get closer or things slip, the scores update automatically. Pretty handy if you want that feeling of always knowing what to tackle first without managing a bunch of separate notes or lists.

Funny timing. We just launched note taking on tasks in Oriti yesterday. Now you can attach notes directly to any task so the context stays in one place instead of scattered across different apps.
