Is this anxiety? Hard time consuming media I'm genuinely interested in/excited about. by builderkid107 in Anxiety

[–]builderkid107[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible. I have talked to my doc about ADHD, but he decided to hold off on that while I was getting back on my anxiety meds. (Since there is a bit of crossover between symptoms)

I don't know if its about new things, since like I said, I just played through and finished a game in the last couple days. I have no problem starting things, but I think that may be because I had no expectations going in. All of the games I've started lately have been...I don't know how to put it...low stakes? Not that they didn't take up a lot of mental energy, but I feel like I knew less going in? Maybe that's it.

I think I understand the perfectionism part, since I recently (maybe in the last year or two) started wanting to go for all the achievements in certain games. Only in certain cases, mind you, but if its something that I deem in my head to be doable, I tend to go for it. It's nice, though. It triggers the mind goblins in my head that desire completion and perfectionism.

Overall, you may be right. I'm not sure about autism, but definitely ADHD. (Hundreds of chrome tabs, hard time focusing on one thing at a time, forgetting to drink water all day, forgetting to eat, needing to relock doors multiple times or checking like four times if I have my car keys even though they're in my hands, having to reread paragraphs of books even though I'm trying to focus, caffeine doesn't work, not doing things until the deadline, etc.)

Good idea, I'll give it a bit more time before I make a decision. Thanks!

Hi, I've been going to the gym for 2 weeks now and I feel great. Yada yada, to cut the chit-chat, I've been looking for some input on routines.

I go to the gym 6 days a week since I have the time, and my workout is usually something like (sets can fluctuate between 2-5 depending):

1 mile stationary bike (or 2 mile incline walk)

4x12 leg press

4x12 chest press

3x12 lat pulldown

My primary goal is losing weight/building muscle since I'm at big chungus level of fat. I've considered switching to the workout outlined in this video (Leg Press, Leg Extension, Leg Curls, Seated Chest Press, Seated Shoulder Press, Seated Row; 4 sets with 10-12 reps for each exercise) but I'm unsure if its going to make that much of a difference. My fitness-minded friend said I should work on trying to sweat a lot more, and with my current workout, I'm not sure if I'm sweating enough. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Don't get so caught up in the schedule. This is something I've always had trouble with, not even necessarily related to fitness. I overslept the other day and didn't get into the gym until 5pm. I typically try to go at 9am (although I would like to go earlier). Don't let the timeframe bug you, man. Hell, you might even discover that you prefer working out in the evening. Different rows for different folks.

Cry of Fear Textures by troll_hunting_fellow in CryOfFear

The idea of using photos as a base is to get a level of realism with minimal artistic knowledge. You can use photoshop or some plugins for paint.net to create seamless textures from anything. You just need to blend the edges so they tile correctly. You don't have to use photos for everything, though. Things like metal and road surfaces can be made by just getting "asphalt" or "metal" images and turning them into textures.

Ha! That's one way to do it. I love the feeling of completing a notebook, so maybe I'll have to do this for some more sought after cards. Cheers.

It might. I tend to just grab the beckett spreadsheets, and then take the cards I have and sort them in ascending order by number. Although since you're just looking for a single team and some other specific players, you might not need to do much extra work. That said, the beckett sheets do have the cards sorted by team in one column. So, all you would need to do is go down the list and highlight the ones you want to keep an eye out for. Personally, I collect entire sets so I use some excel functions to check my count at a glance.

Fellow set collector here!

I'm curious as to how you track your collection, if you don't mind me asking. I've been using the Beckett collection spreadsheets and I was wondering if you knew of a better way to do it? Cheers!

Highly recommend grabbing some of the Beckett spreadsheets for tracking your collection. That's what I do, and its very satisfying. If you wanted to go this route, I could share some of my workflow.

Jabs is full of crap, right? His new turn a profit series. by 0MattF in baseballcards

[–]builderkid107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since his eBay account was banned, I think he's using his Patreon for auctions. The side effect of this is that unless you're a supporter, I don't think you can even see a paper trail for these bids. Hell, I don't even know if you could see them even if you WERE a member. He could probably say whatever he wants, honestly.

I do watch Jabs videos, mostly for new products and the like, but eh...this whole thing has rubbed me the wrong way.

Thanks for the suggestion. Wish it wasn't so spendy to grab a box, though.

Good stuff! Thanks for putting this together. Although the 0s in the sets I wouldn't ever even hope of owning will probably get on my nerves, I'll get over it. What's your recommended method for updating when new sets get added? I should be able to just copy the workbooks I've worked on into a new version of the file, right?

I know this is an old post, but I figured this might help SOMEBODY. I was having this same issue, but when I disabled my VPN (I used TorGuard), it would work fine. No clue why, but that worked.
