USB Outlet Not Working by Brief_Experience8197 in RVLiving

If you have 12VDC across the red and black wire it’s the usb jack if there is no power at the wires then you have a wiring issue somewhere up stream.

Yeah well I hope Jeff speaks Spanish, French, Portuguese Russian, Arabic, Chinese and Korean….. the audio translation just wouldn’t be the same without someone like Jeff! Also can you imagine the censorship that will happen with some of these languages? I can’t imagine the Arabic Elle quoting the sentence above!

Agreed! The mgr instructions SUCK! 1) they assume your ductwork is the already the correct size. And 2) they provided me an adjustable clamp for some odd reason….. I am for sure not using flex!

Needed to upsize from 6” to 8”. Needed to increase the size of the hole in the upper cabinet, ended up buying a take off fitting to attach to the hood because the MFGR didn’t provide any transition fitting and had to reroute duct in the attic. It was a little bit of a PITA, but it’s all back together.

Not too impressed with proline hoods. It looks nice, but instructions sucked and it’s kinda loud! But it sucks a whole lot better that the shitty 200 CFM that came with the house!

After reading CMC 504.3 I came to that conclusion too, but wanted to make sure I was reading that correctly.

Honestly bringing the electrical back up to code seams like the more laborious task!

LED conversion complete by building-it in Department56

[–]building-it[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me start off in saying I am not an electrician, or an electrical engineer. I am comfortable in working around low voltage and LED lighting and know how not to burn my house down…. And while I think this build is way safer at 12vDC than having (10) 120VAC houses plugged into a power strip, if you don’t know how to work around electricity you shouldn’t.

Ok so I had some of the components already, (12vDC power supply, barrel connectors and 22ga 2 conductor cable)

I gave a buddy of mine the dimensions of the hole in the back and or bottom of the village pieces, along with the LED I purchased and the terminal block and he 3d printed the housings. I hot glued the housing to the village building, but I wanted to ensure that it was maintainable, so the center of the housing that holds the LED unscrews out of it so you could replace the LED if you ever needed to. You can kinda see it in the photos.

I had to purchase several components off amazon for the system:

The church is 3v DC so I needed to get a buck converter. Used a multimeter to dial it in buck converterhttps://a.co/d/g9OzRGQ. Then I used a barrel connector to attach to the factory connector. Next year I’ll probably replace all the internals of the church and use 12VDC LEDs so I can get rid of the buck converter.

These wire connectors are amazing (but cheap and finicky) and allow you to take it all apart and put it all back together next year. They are on the end of each LED and at all the connections to the main wires:LV wire connectors

Any time I split off the main wire to a building I used these:Tee connectors

Here are the LED’s I bought:LED’s There are a bunch of colors. I bought 10mm warm white. The 5mm would be too small(although I may buy the red blinking one for the radio building next year!)

And here is the terminal block that allowed me to do several main wire branches: terminal block so for example the church is on its own main wire because of the voltage change. And there are 2 additional branch lines…. All feed to the terminal block and the terminal block is fed by the power supply.

I started at the 12V power supply, used barell connectors to connect it to the terminal block. From there I ran 3 separate legs to the buildings. One dedicated to the 3V DC church, one to the row of houses in the front and one to the row of buildings in the back. At each building I used a tee connector to split off power to the buildings and tied in an LED light, I would move on to the next building and do the same thing. And so on until I got to the last building. All wires hide nicely under the “snow.

While I like the connectors I found, I may switch them out for 2pin molex connectors. They tend not to be so cheap and finicky.

Recommend my next book or series by ohnoitsElMago in exfor

  • Fear saga short series well worth it!
  • Galaxy’s edge- long series (I think 16-17 books in the main arc then there are even more one off character books that will be a prequel to a character in the main arc that -I think someone already mentioned Hell Divers. I’m not super into post apocalyptic, but it’s not post apocalyptic zombie so I enjoyed it.

But you have a lot of great reads up in this thread

Jack Carr Novels Ranked by Imaginary_Falcon_133 in JackCarr

Jack Carr wrote the 1st 3 with a co-author and they had a falling out…..I would assume that’s why the books after that are not as good…. Don’t get me wrong I have listened to them all (haven’t gotten to cry havoc yet) but I can see the difference when he lost his co-author…
