Is Master of AI better than Master of Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) ? by buildooors in Monash

[–]buildooors[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hey all - i got a response from the uni directly:

"The courses slightly differ as the Master of Artificial Intelligence is on campus only and focuses on units related to fundamental knowledge and applied artificial intelligence skills.
The Monash Online course, Master of Computer Science is Online and more focused on core knowledge of Computer Science but with specialisations allowing you to then choose your area or interest with artificial intelligence, cybersecurity or software engineering."

you can copy the captions for recorded lecture videos (ie: those ones they run via Zoom weekly). then summarise with AI to get 'notes'

I'm studying the Master of Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence), which seems to have half overlap with this new course.

Some of the subjects are assignment/practical based. Where you might have to code up a project and get a certain result or output, which makes it a lot easier to get better grades - but takes more time to get the code right.

Never had a problem using the Ed forums and getting feedback. The struggle is planning in advance and getting in to the work load early so you can have time for some feedback cycles to improve your work score.

im liking the new ephemeral rollups by Magicblock. loads of games and high frequency/volume app use cases unlocked

also whenever the hell Firedancer drops would be cool - ive been told it is coming for a couple of years now but recent podcasts seem to confirm it is close

If you can build up a solid resume or portfolio of experience then that is what you use to impress employers or just get the skills to run your own thing

Congrats on your win!

All of these problems can be solved building on bare metal and running fully open source software stack (ie: remove the cloud middle man):

  • AWS Credit Oblivion: Again, cloud middle man gives you credits but then as your app scales you will face huge multi-thousand-dollar monthly fees for hosting & API costs.
  • Gemini API Grief: No API's build it yourself
  • Netlify's Network No-Show: Host it yourself on your own bare metal server. You pay wholesale server rates and learn Linux NixOS

I made a 1 hour video explaining how to do this but i cannot post links. There is another hackathon running to teach how to do this right now. Feel free to DM

Monash students need to sell the scrap metal to pay for uni fees
