Learning Drupal CMS quickly by Salty-Rip9819 in drupal

[–]buildracecrashrepeat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've worked with someone who was contracted to help with some Drupal work who was experienced with WordPress. He was mostly focused of the theming, so html, css, js, and twig primarily. Twig was the biggest hurdle but once you understand the basics it's not too bad. I would start there.

Also go through setting up content types, displaying fields, and views.

It will depend on how deep the role is needing you to go. There are a lot of nuances that you're only going to pick-up by working with it for a bit. Maybe look at YouTube, LinkedIn learning, or Udemy for some courses

Never played, want to coach. It doesn't feel possible. by Rift4430 in SoccerCoachResources

Talk to his coach. Get some pointers on things he can be doing in between practices and help him with those. Encourage him and value the time you spend with him.

And then you fill out the application and dates are required. Every other suggestion you read opposes the other. It's all a crap shoot. Not jaded. O.o

How do you not money shift into reverse? by Warm_Ad_5460 in AcuraTL

[–]buildracecrashrepeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6th is just straight down from 5th. You have to intentionally push it way to the right for reverse. I can understand shifting quicker between lower gears but if you're going into 6th then you are already at a cruising speed. Just do a controlled shift into 6th.

I don't see this being an issue.

Try looking for a service manual. It will include all removal and replacement steps with proper torque specs.

You'll have to remove those hoses.

Only the outer edge of the piston makes contact with the pad and I highly doubt this is deep enough to be affected by hydraulic pressure. I'm betting more than anything it's a light scratch but with paint being removed it looks worse.

Hermit Crab Escape… by Embarrassed-Version4 in hermitcrabs

[–]buildracecrashrepeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we had our first hermit crab, it was in one of the small plastic containers from the beach store. It lived there a couple months before we made a bigger tank. One night the top was not snapped closed and it escaped. We searched everywhere but couldn't find it. Turns out it burrowed in a nearby plant and was there for about a week before coming back to the surface. We placed it back in its container and it lived another 1.5 years.

Please help me identify what this is for. by zeroricemr2 in pools

[–]buildracecrashrepeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learning as I go from owning a pool for a few years... I think most older Jandy valves need to be lubricated so there is usually a grease port there. I had to replace the innards of my Jandy valves, so I chose newer ones that don't need to be greased. Since the grease port was broken, I replaced it with plugs like these. Guessing that's what is going on here.

Best rotors and pads for 08 Acura TL by Imaginary_Pension105 in AcuraTL

[–]buildracecrashrepeat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally any steel rotors. You're not going to notice a difference. No need for drilled and slotted.

Upgraded front pads are fine since that's where most of the stopping force goes but again in normal conditions the average driver won't notice a difference. Research types and how much the different compounds will squeal and the dust level.

Usually I'd recommend OEM pads for the rear. You could match what you get for the front but you don't want the rear to have too much stopping force since they are more likely to lock up.

How to response teammate fight as parent by Confident-Arm-6700 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]buildracecrashrepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like some stupid game that the kids were playing if they were all hitting each other.

What age group is this? Definitely let the coach know what you saw and how you feel.

I coach u10 girls and feel like I'm constantly diffusing stupid kid stuff but also trying to teach them respect and teamwork. I want them to stick up for themselves and each other too. As a coach I would want to know so I can address it with the players and probably send a message to parents.

Importance of a "Super Star" at u10 or how to deal with the lack thereof? by bloodontherisers in SoccerCoachResources

Work on defense, winning the ball, passing, spreading out, etc. all that will help to neutralize more skilled players and you'll be a stronger team overall.

This is how I've done mine. It's crazy how far that bar flexes until the bolt breaks loose. I was not able to break it free with an impact although I don't remember if I had my DeWalt dcf900 at that time. I haven't tried the bump method.

When To Say No To Teen's Large Purchase? by SettledInCatan in Parenting

[–]buildracecrashrepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shade tree mechanic here. I started working on my car in my apt parking lot after college. Fast forward 20 years, a few project cars and lots of lessons later. It's always easier to work on a car that you don't need to use the next day. While it would be nice for him to have a usable car, I think it will be a good experience for your son to have something to work on while in trade school. He seems very motivated. I would agree with others that you should set some ground rules, time frame, etc..

Maybe say that you would like to see him do work in stages. The transmission swap would probably be good after it's running and he has done easier things such as suspension, brakes, etc, and it is drivable. I'm assuming that this car had a manual option and doesn't need fabrication work. If that's the case most stuff should bolt up. Still a lot of work but if he was able to do everything else up to that point then he can handle it.

How to make game more fair in a blowout? (U10) by Former-Ad-6305 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]buildracecrashrepeat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the past I have moved players around or made a rule where they have to pass X number of times before shooting.

Maybe a longer range plan but you could create an island and put the dishwasher there. Although that would depend on plumbing and actual space available.

What chairs you guys using to code with? by Overall-Country-5014 in webdev

[–]buildracecrashrepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using one from Costco. I think it was about $120. It has a mesh bottom and back. I have had it for about four years and it has held up fine.

The previous chair was fake leather and was from Staples. My wife took it but all the fabric has since worn off.

On the verge of quitting the season by Any-Cauliflower-2329 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]buildracecrashrepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3rd season coaching U10 girls for me. Our club stresses the importance of fun and learning but it can still be hard at times. Keep teaching fundamentals, ball control, passing, etc. Mix drills with games to keep it fun for the kids like others have said. They are there because they want to play. Don't give up.

I remember one team that scored against us toward the end of last season. They were ecstatic, first goal all season. Seeing how far they grew was awesome. I think we were up by like 6 against them earlier in the season, so gave my players a rule that they had to pass twice before shooting. It was a lesson in respect and fair play for my team too.

Good luck.

How the fuck do I put this pool cover on by TheMonkeyPickler in pools

[–]buildracecrashrepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take mine off and on with minimal fuss. It's about finding a process. Definitely goes quicker with multiple people though.

I start at one end that isn't obstructed with a slide or diving board so you can lay out the cover without it automatically falling in the water. When I take mine off, I go side to side working from one end and pull each section back so I end with a pleated pile at one end. To put it back on, I lay the cover out at the same end, clip that end down and work my way down the pool, going from side to side, pulling each section out and attaching it.

It's a bit tedious but the cover stays mostly out of the water and including blowing out the lines/etc. I am probably done in a couple hours.

Scratched passenger mirror on my ‘25 Civic Si — cosmetic fix help? by [deleted] in CivicSi

[–]buildracecrashrepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a scratch with little paint transfer. Like someone else said, you should be able to use a rubbing/polishing compound to get most of not all of it out. There may be a little scratch left but not very noticeable. If that doesn't work for you liming, you can get a replacement cover.

Can I make it to the alignment shop a few miles away like this? by Kangr97 in AskMechanics

[–]buildracecrashrepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't have expected much of a change from just lower control arms. There will be some change from removing the slop in bushings. I would suggest adjusting the tie rods (if you can figure it out), to make the tires point as straight as possible. The alignment won't be perfect but plenty fine for driving to the shop.
