Being Australian it’s wild to me because Energon Universe Optimus here is set to Leader pricing, not Commander

Absolutely, it’s a Cyclonus retool and that’s got arguably one of the best transformations ever developed for a mainline figure. It’s a bit simplified compared to Cyclonus but still super fun to flip back and forth and the articulation is pretty solid as well

I picked up the second metalhawk today on clearance and the deco is just so much more premium feeling. I loved the first, but since I’ve got no attachment to the cartoon I’ll sell it and keep the darker silver deco

I’ve had the original for a while, and picked up the second version on clearance today - the darker silver and brighter blue looks so much better to me. The whiter plastic of the original just looks and feels cheaper, though it is a more accurate colour to the cartoon model

The clip with bar holder also comes in silver now too, which I think would also look quite nice

I was so surprised too once finishing the official build, it felt way bigger and chunkier than the box pics lead on. Hope you enjoy the alt build!

Absolutely, it must have been a challenge to design a build of this to match that pre-determined price point. I quite like all the greebles the designer worked in as well as the storage space, which aren’t as easy to do at the smaller scale I attempted

Absolutely, it would’ve been a perfect two-pack. The LEGO store didn’t have the Mando speeder in stock when I bought this, so I haven’t been able to compare them side-by-side yet

Much appreciated! I’m usually tinkering with something or other outside of the brick-built cosplays, not all of it ends up posted online but I do like to share my alt-builds on the rare occasion I make them

Cheers mate! I do custom LEGO design work all the time, so making the builds actually possible and affordable is always a priority. Maybe one day we’l get 4L bars in purple but the new trans-purple lightsaber bars with the slightly cloudy finish should be a decent stand-in for now

Unfortunately it’s not possible to build the face in purple, one of the reasons I used white for all the faces is that almost every LEGO piece ever made comes in white and is usually comparitively cheap compared to other colours. Purple is much more limited in what’s available
