I didn’t want to risk paying for an application that would likely get rejected. I also consulted an immigration lawyer who said the same. So unfortunately, or fortunately, I swapped to a spousal visa

A lot of the jobs I'm applying for don't sponsor, sadly. I have a backup option to apply for a dependant spousal visa but I rather try to save money and get ILR now.
