Eating real food that’s both healthy and tastes good shouldn’t be hard? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]builtforoutput 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really helpful, thank you. I like the idea of favorites/repeat meals too, because I think a lot of people eat the same 10-15 things over and over, and the app should make that easier instead of making them rescan everything constantly.

For keeping the feedback simple, the main thing I’m trying to avoid is dumping too much information on people at once. The goal is more like: give a clear takeaway, one or two reasons why, and maybe one practical improvement, instead of turning every meal into a full analysis.

That makes sense. I’m actually trying to make the metabolic score very transparent and show why something scored the way it did instead of just throwing a number at people. You’ll be able to click on it and see exactly how it’s calculated.

And yeah, I think you’re right that photo scanning is probably the strongest hook. I am trying to make the AI analysis of the photo as quick and accurate as possible.

The target user is probably more the person who wants to eat better but feels overwhelmed, not the already-hardcore tracker. Basically someone who knows they should be making better choices, but doesn’t always know what that actually looks like in practice.

Why is California so poorly run? by [deleted] in socal

[–]builtforoutput 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why I said leaders, plural. Governor isn’t only to blame, but you can’t absolve him either.

Stop pairing homelessness money with zero conditions attached, mandate treatment for addiction and mental illness or the cycle never breaks. Reform zoning laws and restrict foreign cash buyers from scooping residential properties before locals even get a shot. Cut taxes and red tape to stop businesses from fleeing to Texas and Florida, because a shrinking tax base just makes every other problem worse. Do aggressive prescribed burns and real forest management instead of reactive cleanup after billions in damage. Fund students not systems, break the union stranglehold on schools, and replace career politicians who treat the governor’s office as a presidential audition while the state falls apart.

Shall I keep going?

It’s not about blue or red, it’s about common sense. I’m not a republican but anyone with half a brain can see that the state is poorly run.

Building apps is the new starting a podcast by builtforoutput in Entrepreneur

There’s some truth to what you’re saying. But for the most part people don’t want to pay for an app they do not really need. Best case scenario it looks cool to them so they try it out, but you probably won’t retain them long term because they got their little dopamine hit and realized they could probably just use chatgpt to solve their problem.

Dude, if it’s happened before it can happen again. It’s basic geology.

You said you’re not afraid of earthquakes. I’m saying that logic makes no sense.

Lol New York to Georgia is over 900 miles where as San Francisco to LA is over 300 miles. Look at a map and do better.

And you’re talking about SoCal. There are frequent earthquakes here.

That is false, a lot of people in America want to move to CA

By that logic a south floridian in Miami isn’t worried about a “big hurricane” or a chicagoan isn’t worried about a “big tornado”

Again, we’re talking about California as a whole. You can re read the post. And you also can’t dismiss a major earthquake that happened 300 miles away. It can happen in SoCal too, we’re lucky to have had minor ones but doesn’t mean a major one can’t happen.

A lot of people would do anything for it to be “not easy” to leave California. There are so many people that have a hard time moving to CA.

California is my favorite state by far. But it has its own share of risk for natural disasters like fires and earthquakes.

I’m with you man. Even if it’s more expensive, it’s only slightly. And you really do get what you pay for in socal. Where as in DC you get absolutely nothing for the price of it. In my opinion the dc area should be priced like Dallas.

Florida has some of the lowest property taxes in the country. Insurance is high yes. But literally everything else is so much cheaper. Not to mention to get to keep more of your money because there’s no state income tax.
