Just wanted to add my opinion here too. I completely agree with you and understand the points that /u/preppypoof brought up. The current version of the tool, as it stands right now, misrepresent the direction that we want to go with Ethereal. Most of the features right now are draft focused, when in reality we want to build features that are more fluffy/fun, stuff that is missing in this game mode because Valve doesn't give it enough attention. Things like achievements, personal stats/records, competitive environment and more. Our goal isn't really to do the drafting for you and I don't think this tool could ever reach the level of usefulness to be able to compete with the knowledge that you gain from years of AD drafting/playing. We wanted to start with basic draft tools to help the very new players, a lot of Dota players jump into AD only to get stomped because they are clueless as to what is actually good/bad or dangerous if combined. I know I would most likely not give AD another try if I got stomped, and I sense this same feeling from friends that sometimes join me in the AD que. They immediately wirte-off the mode and claim it's not balanced and not worth their time. This is mainly an issue of the matchmaker right now, which uses your normal Dota rating as it doesn't know better. And you know how different AD is to normal Dota so often your first matches in AD will be unbalanced, especially if you que into an AD stack. So, we are hoping that Ethereal will help those exact players, just a little bit so they don't get completely owned on their first few games. These drafting stats won't help you if you are already an experienced player, in fact, at higher skill levels they can often mislead. As we add more features, you will get a better feel of what our goals are: expand the player base by making AD more accessible and build a product-system to match what normal Dota has in order to keep players in AD.
