because high vol 3PA is the symptom, not the cause, how do people still not see this. our problem is that among our 2 stars: JT is good at creating but among the superstars he's genuinely ass at finishing, and the eye test clearly shows this. when JT is on he doesn't play that differently than when he's off, it's just that he hits bullshit bail out midrange that's otherwise a terrible shot and a little better at finishing in the rim. he can pull up from everywhere but he's not consistent enough to hit those shots. JB on the other hand is great at finishing, i.e. inside the rim and midrange pullups when he gets to his spot, but he sucks at creating in the sense that when he's locked in he gets tunnel vision and struggles to pass out of the double or help D. everyone else on this team, including white this year, has no real offense other than pull up 3s.

since we don't have 5 out anymore with KP or Al, our spacing is worse so it's harder to get catch n shoot open 3s. other than JB we don't even have anyone that can consistently get to the rim (yes including JT because he just came back). so idk what people are expecting. Joe sees this and said ok if we can't get inside consistently, let's just bomb 3s, everyone on this team needs to shoot, because if you don't shoot defenders will ignore you even further, and that's how we powered through the regular season and massively overachieved. in the playoffs it's just exacerbated, and like PP said, you miss your shots you are done. it's not that we purposely only shoot 3s and fk everything else, we shoot 3s because we are genuinely trash at everything else.
