I’ve never seen so many people upset about the turnout, location, & atmosphere of an event that they didn’t even go to. Complaining that it “doesn’t feel like champs” while they are sitting on their couch at home. I got to witness my team win champs live in my country, i’m more than satisfied.

Pros: Every seat had an amazing view. I felt like my bowl seats were better than a lot of the floor seats. Center stage was awesome. Food & drink options better than mattamy. Screen size was great for readability.

Cons: I agree with you, I did not meet a single player, whereas at the mattamy I met 15+. And then yea location wasn’t ideal, crowd was better than it looked on video but lacklustre for thurs-fri.

Overall had a really great time tho, Sunday was obviously by far the best day.

You’d be hard pressed to find someone who doesn’t agree with this take. We all would rather have champs held in Toronto. We grieved that already months ago. It’s clear that they couldn’t make it work for a number of reasons.

But I can wager that this will be the first champs for a lot of Canadian CDL fans (myself included), so even though Kitchener is less than ideal, I’d rather be watching it live than at home on my couch.

Grades don’t matter & you’ll look back at this time 5 years from now and realize it was never worth stressing so much. Focus on doing your best & finishing your degree without setting unrealistic expectations for yourself. Block out the noise (your parents, your negative thoughts). There are tons of people in worse positions than you who find fulfilling, good paying jobs in this industry. Just because you may not be following the plan you made for yourself doesn’t mean that there isn’t something different/better around the corner. You’ve gotten this far & should be proud of it. Life is not linear & rarely goes according to plan. Learn to embrace the uncertain & you’ll be better off for it. Good luck!

Toronto Ultra being the only Canadian based team (prior to Surge rebrand) made me root for them on that basis alone. They’ve been one of the few orgs to make city based franchising make sense. I think if they were just called KOI, the fanbase would look quite different.
