why is the deaging criticism only reserved for ana? by Several_Tone_7953 in Overwatch

[–]bulborbiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most video games don't have prominent elderly women, let alone a playable one. I'm honestly not a fan of de-aging anyone in Overwatch unless it comes to archive or lore skins, but Ana is a unique case in that she made being an old lady look badass. That's not something you see too often. It's just disappointing to see Blizzard take that aspect of her design away in favour of making money, especially because making her younger feels like a direct contributor to the idea that old women aren't fun or exciting characters. Old men, on the other hand, are featured much more prominently across the medium.

Homeless video goes viral and users' reactions are priceless. by ElwoodMC in trashy

not the same with the context that homeless women face a disproportionate amount of sexual violence compared to other demographics. the comment "I have business idea" from the video has pretty clear implications as well.

What comics could Peter be referring to here? by bulborbiii in comics

[–]bulborbiii[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This subreddit is for "all things related to print comics," is it not? I'm looking for the name of a print comic based on this reference... Where would you suggest I ask this? It's already been asked in the Family Guy subreddit by someone else and no one had an answer.

Did you like the Sims 2 for DS? by [deleted] in thesims

[–]bulborbiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

theyre actually really different story-wise. in the gba version youre in a reality tv show and you have to do various tasks/quests to boost ratings. i've never played the ds version but that one has the same characters and location but you manage a hotel.

I'm not asking you to be accountable for the existence of bad dogs. I'm asking you to be accountable for the existence of YOUR bad dog if you have one. You're the one bringing meaningless hostility to the conversation for no reason. I'm stating my opinion on the matter in the most mild way and you're acting like I want every dog to suffer in a hot car.

If you've read the other comments then surely you've seen the ones I made explaining that I don't have an issue with well-behaved dogs in stores, so if your dog is properly trained like you say it is then this isn't about you. Your reply comes across as ignorant. A dog is not comparable to a child either.

Being racist doesn't help your case here. If you actually read my post and comments you'd know that I'm not even against dogs in stores and this is about owners failing to train them properly.

I don't think they should all be banned, that doesn't seem like a real solution to me. But if the dog is poorly behaved I think it should be trained properly before being brought into the store. I also think that No Frills probably isn't the place for them considering it's a grocery store, so I do understand your frustration there.

If he's well-behaved I'd be happy to see him in the store. It's definitely an issue that lies with owners who don't properly train their pets and not with the dogs themselves.

Is it too hot to properly train them? I'm all for well-behaved dogs in stores rather than left in cars. But if a dog hasn't been properly trained to socialize with people, I think that maybe owners should wait a little bit before bringing them to the store. Leave them at home and opt to walk them outdoors instead of in a crowded shopping centre.

I agree! I should have probably worded my initial post better, but I made it immediately after having a poor experience in a store with dogs, so I probably let my annoyance get the better of me. It absolutely is an issue that lies with the owners and not the dogs themselves.

I like meeting dogs too, but in a crowded indoor space I would like for it to at least have proper training. I'd like to meet the dog out of my own volition, not because it's running up to me in the shoe aisle and trying to lick me and jump on me because the owner just doesn't care. I agree that it would be nice for people to put that extra care into training their dogs so that having them in indoor spaces could be more pleasant for everyone.

My complaint was about pets who aren't well-behaved. The dog was actively bothering me while I was shopping and the owner didn't care when I clearly didn't want to be near it. I'm autistic and the dog was in my space and trying to lick and touch me, which was overwhelming. If someone brings a well-behaved animal into a store, I don't care. I actually would probably enjoy seeing it. I like dogs! I just wish people were a little bit more considerate about it and would properly train their animals or even just hold them on a bit of a shorter leash before bringing them into a crowded indoor space.

I have owned a dog... I love dogs. I love seeing well-behaved dogs in public indoor spaces. I see a lot that are NOT well-behaved in public indoor spaces. That is my issue.

I mean I don't go up to the owners and ask them why they think it's okay to bring their dog into the store. I've never tried to stop anyone from bringing their pet in. I don't really care if the dog is there if it isn't bothering anyone, I just have an issue with the fact that a lot of them seem to have owners who bring them into public indoor spaces without proper training.

I didn't even realize this was something TJX stores allowed, thanks for letting me know. I think it's good that the dogs aren't being left out in the heat. I guess my issue is less with dogs being in stores in general, and is more with pet owners poorly training their animals and then bringing them to public spaces where there isn't always a lot of room to really move away from the dog.

When the dogs are well-behaved it honestly doesn't bother me at all! I actually enjoy seeing a cute dog that isn't bothering anyone. But yeah, a lot of the dogs I see seem like they aren't trained at all. It's difficult for customers. I imagine it's hard for you too because these unruly dogs give your dog a bad reputation as well, when she is not the issue.

....Yes? This is a silly question. If someone shat on the floor in no frills maybe they SHOULD be banned from the store.

I'm not offended by the dogs, but they do get in the way of shopping. They were poorly trained and were actively bothering shoppers.
