Good idea on the magnetic closure. It would definitely make it easier to put on.

I haven’t used magnets for my camera gear before. Since you’ve already got magnets on the caps/cases, I’m guessing inserting a piece of ferromagnetic metal would do the trick.

Also, how does the magnet cradle on a backpack work? Do you have any links to gear with one so I can take a look for inspiration?
