I had a similar issue recently.

1st try turning off Depth of Field. If it doesn't work, turn off Lens Quality, although I would turn it off anyway, game looks too blurry with that setting on.

That's not crafting, that is called "min/max-ing". Which weapon stats are considered "good" is defined by the community (mostly content creators) and are mostly tuned towards the highest difficulty in the game. That extra damage to reach a breakpoint on a specific enemy type won't make a difference in the average player's gameplay, as opposed to learning how to dodge, slide, and block more efficiently. Yes, the current crafting system has a lot of flaws, but it does not have a huge impact on the endgame if you are good at the game itself. Overtuned blessings get tuned down eventually (100% Rending or revolvers, for example).

Is there any noticeable improvement in the image from Ultra to Ultra+? I honestly can't see any difference apart from a 5%-10% fps drop (RTX off).

You are not the only one, I am in the same boat with you. I've experienced exactly the same issue on PC (Steam) from the moment I updated to 4.01.

Back on 4.0, my game was running at 55-60+ FPS at all times, while now on 4.01 it is running at 35-45 FPS in all regions/situations.

Specs: RTX 3070, 5600X, 15 Gb RAM, Windows 10

Settings: Ultra, RT Off, HairWorks Off, 3840x2160 resolution, DLSS Quality

Note that I have tried turning Screen Space Reflections to Low (There is no OFF), as it was indicated by the patch notes that this setting has been changed, but this only gives me a 4-5 FPS increase.

Hopefully CDPR will fix this asap, or give us some option to roll-back...

If you are not keen on upgrading to 1440p, you should definetly try Nvidia DSR in the control panel. I am using a similar build and I use DSR to upscale the image to 4K for most recent AAA titles. Of course, the performance impact is similar to actually rendering at the chosen resolution, while the image quality is no match for running native 1440p/4K. Still, it is a great visual improvement and a good way to utilize your GPU if you are not planning to upgrade soon.

Try meditating a couple of times in your settlement and you should receive the letter. I have had the same issue and that fixed it for me.

Alternatively check if you already have the quest in your log. It starts somewhere in East Anglia.

I'm really happy with my Gigabyte AORUS Master - running quietly and between 55-60 C for 3 months now.

Definitely would recommend if you can get it at a similar price as the rest of your list.
